Mike Davis is blaming fans for his players' poor performance this season.

"I watched [saturday's] second half and you could see we were playing with no energy. It's really a shame. They have no idea what they've done to the players."

This is horseshizzle.

Also, how the hell is Davis able to give an interview to ESPN shortly after the Iowa game when he is in bed recovering from a "very serious" flu? Your best bet is to shut your mouth in that scenario, Mike. It's not going to be in your best interest to give an interview when you can't even make it to Assembly Hall for the game.

IU looked like crap again...careless passes...many, many turnovers. I'd rather watch a team with technical proficiency and little athleticism.

The Illini showing little to no life today getting embrassed by a far from superior Ohio State team. They're down 37-26 at half, I'm guessing OSU wins by 20+ today.

Well the Richard McBride that I've come to know and dislike has come back. After having great games against Wisconsin, Purdue and Minnesota he's once again played his disappearing act. Chester Frazier, to me, has been one of the better players on the floor today. We need to play defense and then get to the line on offense (although we aren't a good free-throw shooting team). I said it in November and I said it in January and I'll say it today --- Dee Brown and James Augustine aren't leaders.

Brian Randle, where are you?

What a worthless piece of sh!t. And I agree with you, IU played ugly for much of the game. Very wise move by Davis to turn even more people in Bloomington against him by, in essence, blaming the dismal second half of the season on the fans. Part of me wishes I was still there just to be closer to it all, but after last season, I'd be far too depressed.

Hoping Illinois doesn't come back...

I think you may be giving Illlinois too much credit and OSU not enough credit. I don't believe we'll win in the tourney if we face a team who has a very good big man. Augustine and Pruitt just can't guard big guys. Brunner, Dials and Killingsworth have shown just how a big guy can dominate Illinois. I'm glad we played UNC back in December because Hansbrough would have a field day with us now. OSU has good guards, while we have one good one.... when he's hot. I do think Chester Frazier will be very good, though.

This loss wouldn't have been a killer if we hadn't lost to Penn State. Although I'm not surprised we lost, I don't like how we lost.

I'm wondering if we had a two game losing streak in the 2003-2004 season. If not, when was the last time we lost two in a row?

I can't believe the line was only OSU -2.

I agree with their inability to guard big men, don't know why they didn't go at Dials when he drew his third foul. With a little effort they may have been able to foul him out of the game.

Dials hit the bench right away for about 4-5 minutes after he got that third foul called on him. That was when UI made a bit of a run.

After he came back, there was still time to go at him additionally, they were in the bonus with 11 or so minutes left. Should have started driving to hoop more to stop the clock and get on the line.

This week sure didnt help the big tens cause in disproving the 'mediocrity' label. Big wins by Northwestern, Minnesota and Purdue against the top tier teams was pathetic. Michigan is crapping the bed.

Well, for one thing, they just beat up on Michigan and Wisky.

They are coming into their own...well, as much as they can this year considering how many players they have out.

They will make a bit of noise in the big 10 next year, methinks.

Ohio State is the team that is coming into their own. They have looked very good and will make the Big Ten tournament all that more exciting.

I've pretty much not watched an Indiana basketball game for two seasons now. Thankfully, I sense that my self-imposed boycott of Indiana basketball may be ending soon.

It's only a matter of time before Davis gets a pink slip.

Ohio State is crazy. No team should shoot like that two games in a row. Bruce Weber for the second year in a row was outcoached by Thad Matta. They were beating our guys to the spots on offense, it was as if they knew the offense better than our own players. Why didn't Pruitt play more in the second half? He was who got Dials in foul trouble. Smith and Frazier both need to play more than McBride. Oh yeah and after watching Eric Gordon a couple of times, he is better right now than anyone we have, including Dee.

Anyone else think that Matta is gonna have that team considered a perennial powerhouse within 5 years?

How he has done it, I have no idea, but he is ridiculous.

Someone other than OSU better win this year, because they might not relinquish it for a long time.

Same way there football team does it. I leave the rest to you to figure out. They might not win it next year, after all they will all be freshman. But, after that they will. The year after the thad 5 he already has 2 more 5 stars.

They'll still have Butler, Ron Lewis, and Ivan Harris as role players with the Thad 5. They could be 8 or 9 deep strong next year, with arguably the best player in the country on their team.

Yeah and the thing is the guy(Matta) can flat out caoch too. With that kind of talent coming in it seems unfair.

I am perplexed by the audacity of Mike Davis. Just as any business, "Mike Davis, What have you done for me lately?"

The answer, no question, would be jacksh!t. I was shocked, and irate he didn't get the pink slip after last season.
