No harm in asking, but I imagine that either...

...he knows and was told off-the-record, which is why he didn't print it - in which case, he's surely not going to post it here, or...

...he doesn't know.

Or he didn't see the question, or he would rather write about it in his paper.

Trust me, he doesn't login for Q & A. He stopped by a watering hole frequented by Cubs fans. He wants to know what is on our minds.

Correct me if I'm wrong. Best columnist of Chicago = Mike Royko. Miles learned from the master. He found the place to go to find what was on the mind of the intelligent rabid Cubs fan's mind.

Let him come and go freely. When he has the time, he'll hang.

Mike Royko was indeed the best. I enjoyed reading him the most. (Good observation)

I don't know the trade proposals. The Cubs have been pretty tight-lipped. If I knew, they'd be in the paper.

I loved reading Royko. Peoria Journal Star had a guy who was quickly gaining popularity for telling it like it is in a Roykoesque sorta way, but unfortunately he (Rick Baker) passed away in a car accident just as he was hitting his prime.

I miss the old Chicago Daily News.

Bruce,

Is there a chance one of these is for Tejada?

No. These are separate deals that have been in the works for some time before the Tejada thing came up.

So Finley for Patterson or Walker for Mench?

awful, lets hope you're wrong USS

I've been right a little too often this offseason. Let's hope that evens out.

Well then predict we're going to get Manny or something.

Okay, I predict the Cubs will send Walker, Harvey, and Murton for Manny and cash.

That still leaves us without a right fielder.

A smaller trade or FA signing like Encarnacion or Jay Payton would follow.

Okay, now the Prediction is complete. Let it be so :D

not sure how much we would like manny's adventures in left where the well has been known to humble even those who ARE good at flashing the leather. i could see a lot of doubles becoming triples with manny in left.

also, trading walker means plugging neifi in at 2B and putting a so-so guy in RF.

seems like adding a little thunder to lineup creates some problems elsewhere.

While your second one is probably near the money, I wonder, as a long shot, if Hendry has put in an offer for Ichiro Suzuki.

Hoops, I could not agree more..I was wondering the same about Ichiro. Plug him into the top of the line-up and he also would be good defensively.

I doubt it. I really think he's looking for a middle of the lineup type guy, that's why he got Pierre.

Maybe Huff, or Abreu, or Dunn. Ichiro doesn't really make sense at this point.
