Benson to the Royals

ESPN's Peter Gammons is reporting that Kris Benson is on his way to the Royals for Jeremy Affeldt and Mike MacDougal.

Metsblog.com's Matthew Cerrone says it might be a prospect instead of MacDougal along with Affledt. The Royals can't give up both relievers for the right to pay Benson $15 million over the next two years.

Living in NYC, there's been a lot of talk about getting rid of Benson, mostly due to his wife. She not only won't shut up, but apparently has a new Playboy spread coming out this spring, which would be a SLIGHT destraction for the team.

Yeah, that's pretty much exactly how it went. That led to the PTI guys joking about how all the Mets were taking up a collection to get a really hot hooker to sleep with Kris. :D

Oh and I don't think this is a great deal for the Royals. Its not like hes cheap. He won't turn them around. Although I do have to say I don't know whats going on over there and what they're plan is. Maybe it makes perfect sense.

 

Either way they get Anna. Can we trade some of our spare rule 5 arms for her? She'd be a great clubhouse presence.
