    Why is this such a talked about issue? The Cubs and Marlins both left 10 runners on yesterday. The Marlins had 2 doubles and a homerun, the Cubs had no extra base hits. FLA had one extra baserunner along with those 5 extra total bases. The Cubs did nothing until the 9th inning, when they had 4 of their 8 singles, but it was too little too late. Lots of stories are focusing on the LOB, but 10 stranded is nothing out of the ordinary. Unfortunately, neither is 8 scoreless innings by the offense and bullpen struggles. When you can't get to a pitcher like B Kim, there is a problem.

    Interim president or not, Hendry should have been out of here. The president resigns, the manager is let go and clearly the GM was lacking. He should have been gone.

    It isn't often that the minor league option is superior, but this is one of those times. As Cub fans we are not used to this. But sometimes veterans are signed as placeholders for prospects. Here the prospect is actually ready on time. What are we waiting for? Jones ain't hitting, and it's not like Pie hit .080 while he was here. The margin for gain is quite high.     I'm thinking of dropping Atkins. Talk about a bust so far when you consider what his numbers were this year and where he was drafted. I don't know how much longer I can wait for him.

    Are you guys serious in Barrett playing OF or 2B? Can he even play those positions? Something tells me that he cannot. How is Barrett an improvement over what we currently have a 2B or OF? If he is, it isn't by much.

    WOw, this team is something else. Shut out by B Kim? Just wow. And of course to top it all off the fake rally as usual. Maybe is wasn't such a bright idea to put in Eyre and give up those 2 ER. Eyre needs to go and now.

    thank god this is probably Hendry's last year as GM. Hopefully we get an owner who brings in people who actually know what they're doing. Agreed. Hendry has done enough damage already. I actually feel bad for the new GM coming in dealing with Hendry's absolutely ridiculous contracts he has given. Soriano at 39 years old? OUCH

    66 pitches and he took him out? wow, that worked out great. Lou has said the right things but he hasn't followed through. He is just a tad bit better than Dusty and that isn't saying much.

    If it wasn't for our bullpen we would be in 1st place right now. our bullpen is terrible and mismanaged.

    Why in the hell did he bring in Eyre? What does it take for these cubs managers to learn? Haven't Eyre and Howry lost us enough games already?

    if 120+ pitches was reason to say bye to Z's arm, then Dusty waved goodbye to it at least 2-3 years ago. And you wonder why Z lost velocity from year's past? His overuse is probably the cause of it.

    i don't see how you can blame Ohman at all for this one. He was throwing good pitches and it was a grounder that went right through the middle. Howry is very hittable right now. You can tell his velocity is down and is not the same pitcher from last year. At the very least you have to move him from the set up role. Move Guz, or Marmol for 7th inning and Wuertz to 8th with Demp as closer.

    Howry needs to go. The guy doesn't have the same stuff anymore. At the very least move him out of the setup role. Let him join his buddy Eyre.

    Cause he plays for the Marlins. Also, Americans prefer their legends just like that: Americans. Miguel's country resides in South America.

    Not only do they have Braun which will make their lineup better but they also have Gallardo ready to pitch so one injury to their starter(Sheets) and they should still have good depth. The man is so good he has a Lamborghini named after him :) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lamborghini_Gallardo
