    Theriot is hitting .266/.330/.337. Color me unimpressed. Theriot has 39 more AB than Izturis, who was supposedly our starting SS coming out of ST. Riot is getting his playing time. I'd rather have Theriot in the lineup, at least he can drive in a run. Before last night's game Izturis was stuck at 5rbi for the longest time. 6 rbi total from your starting SS is totally unacceptable, even if you are Cesar Izturis.

    It was a mistake. ESPN 1000 gave the lineups an hour ago and it was Jones.

    per Rotoworld: Adam Dunn to SD? According to FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal, the Padres are eyeing Adam Dunn as they seek to add another power bat. The article mentions Clay Hensley as one option to go to Cincinnati in a potential deal. The Padres would be reluctant to move the right-hander, even if he's out of the rotation right now, but they'd probably have to in order to have any chance of getting a deal done. Scott Linebrink isn't going to be attractive if the Reds decide to give up on the season, and most of the Padres' prospects are low-upside guys. There's been no indication yet that the Padres and Reds have discussed Dunn this year. Source: FOXSports.com

    Per rotoworld: The Cubs are attempting to trade Jacque Jones, a move that would clear the way for Felix Pie to play regularly in center field. There was little interest in Jones over the winter even though he was coming off a fine season, so why would anyone want to take on his contract after he's opened this year at .248/.309/.352? The Padres, White Sox and Twins are among the contenders in need of a left-handed bat, but Jones wouldn't be as much of an upgrade as the Padres might want and the other two don't seem like matches. The Cubs might end up keeping Jones and using him as their primary right fielder, opening up the possibility of a Matt Murton deal.

    I expect Pie to be in the line-up today. Hitting 2nd, 8th, doesn't matter. Just in the line-up. This quite probably is foolish optimism on my part but, I believe a 1-4 of Soriano, Pie, Lee and Ramirez is going to start clicking. Such a 1-4 just seems like the right combination. I personally think just adding some damn consistancy to the positional players can help tremendously. IE: Soriano is your LF, Pie is your CF, and you stick them there. Now we have 3 constantly rotating positions instead of 4. (RF, 2B, SS). I agree with you but I think Soriano is better served in RF. We just don't have the personnel to play RF right now. Murton and FLoyd can't play RF and Jones' arm is terrible.
