    Hendry was also at Parkers start. And Vitters personally worked out with the Cubs (and Pirates). Who knows? I will be royally pissed if Wilkins pulls this again though. I'll be pissed too. No surprise picks please, go with what the consensus 3 is.

    I liked seeing Howry pitch well. Looks like he got his velocity up a bit from before.

    Rotoworld's take on Guzman's injury: Angel Guzman will go on the disabled list Wednesday because of forearm cramping, the Cubs revealed. We called this one a few days ago. The Cubs took an injury-prone pitcher, had him switch roles for the third time this season and then made him throw 7 2/3 innings in a 12-day span. It's the same type of thing Lou Piniella did to get his pitchers hurt in Tampa Bay, and as long as the Cubs let the old man run their pitching staff by whim alone, it will likely keep happening. Now the Cubs are going to call up another quality prospect, Sean Gallagher, throw him into the bullpen and see what happens.

    The best move would have been to start DeRosa and Theriot. I wish the Cubs managers were as wise as you. You do realize the GM can have a say in who starts. And you know his pet is Cesar. It's not always the managers call. Unfortunately. Badger, Actually, I feel that has happened with Izturis. I can see Jimbo do something like this.

    That bothers me too but why bring in one of your best relievers when we're down? Is it just me or has Wuertz been used a lot.

    We traded a future HOF'er for him. Sad. I'm pretty happy with our rotation's performance outside of Zambrano. Maddux would have only taken up space and salary. Maddux for prospects on the other hand... I would have liked to get Matt Kemp or Andre Ethier for him. If you believe the rumors, they weren't really available. I would have thrown in the necessary prospects along with Maddux to get one of those guys, though. I would have taken their worst prospect instead of taking Izturis and his salary. Yup. At least with a prospect you don't have to pay $4.15M for this year. Oh we will pay next year too. JH will pick up that option before he is canned. A going away gift if you will. Ha ha, I don't know why I'm laughing but I can def see that happening.

Maddux for prospects on the other hand... I don't buy we gave up a HOF talk but Hendry got shafted. Not only did he give up Maddux but he acquired and overrated, worthless SS who also was expensive. Essentially, Hendry added salary by adding the worthless bum.

    Both are terrible. Top 3 Cubs that must go in order for us to be more successful. 1. Izturis 2. Eyre 3. Jones.

    He's Hendry's new pet. I swear man the guy can't hit for jack. having 6rbi from your starting SS is totally unacceptable. His defense isn't what it used to be either. Bottom line, he sucks, he should be DFA'd.
