For those of you that think the Cubs still have a chance to make the playoffs, well they are not being realistic.

Personally, I like the fact that we have Williamson in our pen. He is good. So we shoud resign Dempster as well. There's our two best RP. If we can get Giles for a 3 year deal that would be huge for us. I could care less if we resign Nomar or not at this point. I rather see Cedeno. Stick Murton or another OF not named Macias, or Holla at the other corner spot. Let's hope Corey can come back and bat at least 275. Oh yeah, and fire Dusty of course :)

good lord man, do you make a serious effort to post the most pessimistic things you can think of? he's been on the team for less than a week. Wait a second man, everything that is a so called pessimistic view has been right on since the beginning of the season. So just because you have optimistic views dont rag on me because I have different ones. Pessimism is fine, just have a reason for it. Calling Lawton worthless based on his first 4-5 games as a Cub is most certainly not a good reason. I never said Lawton was worthless I said he was a waste of a prospect because he will not make any difference this year.

Lawton was a waste of a prospect. Were going to have some serious OF issues next year again.

His fundamentals wont be worth squat next year when he will be making 9mil. Aww, you guys are always hating on him. Sure, he gets shelled sometimes, which completely inflates his ERA, but it's important to have him on the team. I know everyone on here thinks wins aren't important, but some guys know how to win and others don't. Clearly he's not the Maddux of yesteryear, but he definately knows the game and is important to have in the clubhouse. I like him. I know where you are coming from, I just think that 9mil could be used on a younger pitcher or bat.

Thats why I was against the trade because he wont make a difference on this team. Sorry, but the season is done for and more people have realized that after the Phillies series.

I would say that was a strike but that doesnt change the fact that Maddux is done for.

After reading this, I thought you were taking a break. There is a rants section for ranting -- people should feel free to use it from time to time. :) It's like a drug addict. Cant help to get a little more haha. I need to take a break.

We stick up for them because we are fans. If you have some much contempt you shouldnt watch because this team has problems (obviously). I'm still going to watch and I suspect you will as well. The only difference is you'll watch and kill yourself by picking apart every mistake and I'll watch knowing they are behind yet maintaining they can come back in the next 8 innings. Whatever suits you.

Exactly. Sorry, but when rookie teams can execute and have more fundamentals than you, you know you have problems. This is def not a problem that started this year either. -
Sorry, but the players' lack of hustle, lack of fundamentals, first pitch swinging, getting caught off the base is just plain ridiculous. It's becoming an epidemic.
