  1. Yankees overpaid for AVG players and most of them are getting old now. Their GM is probably one of the worst in baseball. What's our excuse? Most of the players on the Yankees aren't average, they just aren't having good years. Same could be said for some of the Cubs They overpaid for Wright and Pavanno. Those are the two I was ensinuating to.

  3. I wake up every morning and check the transactions for first thing hoping I read a thread that says "Dusty has been canned by GM Hendry!".
  4. Hendry is the type of GM that always looks for the good deal. To me, it seems he doesnt like to pay market value for FAs. I jus do not see this team going after the big name free agents as long as he is GM. Who would want to sign here for 3 years when they can go somewhere else and have more years of guaranteed money? He ha snever signed a FA closer, yet he signs setup men instead and I think he does that because he doesnt want to front the money for a closer because they tend to be almost double the money of what a setup man usually asks for.
  5. I agree to a degree. Either way, house cleaning is in order. This team is tainted. But we only have what three players left from that fateful night? I still think we just got screwed last year with the hurricane and the re-scheduling of games. That's an excuse. We had no closer, and we had a bunch of cry babies on our team.
  6. milton-5-12 6.75era 1.58 whip(egh) .301 baa...3 hits so far? claussen 7-8 4.53 1.40 .274baa harang 8-10 3.90 1.20 whip .249 baa Yeah, and how exactly did they fare against our pitchers this series? Exactly.
  7. U know you're a bad team when the Reds pitchers are doing better than your pitcher and you cant hit a lick off them.
  8. And what is it that he's done? Yeah, he's improved the minor league system, but where are all the supposed studs? Over the last five years, what position player, right now, is the top prospect? Murton? Well he's not even a product of the Cubs system. If you're fond of Hendry then you should really be fond of Walt Jocketty, who seems to turn everything he touches to gold in St. Louis, with less of a payroll. How about Hendry turning guys like Choi, Bobby Hill and Matt Bruback for Aramis Ramirez, and Derrick Lee. Or how about finding guys like Brendan Harris (he will still be a very good player in the majors, he needs the right team) Kyle Farnsworth, Sergio Mitre outside of the Top 5 Rds of the MLB Draft. Look Hendry is no innocent victim here, but he doesn't get AS MUCH blame as Baker and the players. Look at this way, he won't have to deal with Sosa and ego this offseason, meaning he can go to work earlier this offseason, legitmating improving this team. Yeah, we have Ramirez and Lee, but that doesn't overshadow the fact that in the offseason everyone, I mean everyone, said we needed a LF, lead-off man, bullpen and OBP for 2005. He addressed none of the areas. I think people take criticism too personal. I don't hate Baker and Hendry and several of the players on a personal level; I know none of them. I love the Cubs and want at the very least a NL Pennant. And I won't hold my tongue for those who I feel are the most responsible for this team's failure this year. The good news is I can't honestly see this team losing 12 straight, so we may win one against the Cards. Or will Houston lose again tonight and keep our hopes up? When has Hendry ever added what we needed. Since 2003 its been the same thing over and oevr. Closer(bullpen), Bench, offense, leadoff you name it.
  9. What happened? What'd he do? He struck out, the ball got away from the catcher and Burnitz didn't even make a motion to first. It wasn't like the catcher just dropped the ball in front, it got a few feet behind him. not only didnt he make a motion to first he was already walking towards the dugout with his head down.
  10. He was probably a Cubs fan checking the Cubs/Reds score on his cellphone last night. Once he saw the score he felt suicide was the only way to go. Hahahah.
  11. Wow, look at that. Look at Burnitz. Wow, this team is cooked. Bench everybody.
  12. This has to be a joke, The players are probably doing this on purpose. We're still not out of this inning. Wuertz hasnt done squat. I'm thinking they might be doing this on purpose.
  13. Last place in the division is a possibility. Never count this team out to dissapoint you. Never.
  14. That being said then why have Dusty around? He's worthless. I'm sick of this coaching staff. The only one worth a damn is Speier, and I could care less if he gets canned too. I'm not going to blame Dusty for Hill's performance. As fans, this is what we wanted to see. This team has fallen apart.
  15. Right on dalgreen, Rothschild is as responsible IMO. Thats why the entire coaching staff should be fired.
  16. If I was a manager I know for certain I would breaking things right now. Our play lately is inexcusable.
  17. That's a good point... can we expect a lot of changes this off season? or is hendry gonna play the collapse to an overused bench, and injured starters? also, what kind of free agents are lined up for the off season? or is it too early to tell? http://www.mlb4u.com/teamfa.html Quite a few people on that list i would like Furcal BJ Ryan Giles AJ Burnett As role players either Tino, Millar or Olerud Hidalgo probably wont get great offers, wouldnt mind him as a 4th of with a chance to win the job if he was affordable. SIgn all four.
