Logically, I see no reason to hold on to Baker anymore as the manager of the Cubs. He's been that bad.

I think Hendry's reputation is exactly why Dusty may be fired. Just for speculation, if the Cubs get swept by the Reds at home........Dusty should be fired before the start of the St. Louis series! I'm really cheering for CPat. I hope he does well when he comes back. I guess he's suppose to be activated today. .500 might be a stretch at this point and the season for us is definitiely over. We need to fire the entire coaching staff and maybe keep Speier. Release the bad players that wont be around next year to make room for the kids. This has been a dissapointing season all the way from the off-season. Even though I had a feeling we wouldnt make the postseason because of Hendry's inability to make moves I still thought we were better than a .500 team. One thing is for certain, Dusty HAS to go. He would not be managing right now if this was any other team. Even on the Royals he would be fired. He's gotta go.

They certainly look flat. I said it the other day: I think the Cubs could benifit from a bench clearing brawl.... I think the cubs could benefit by firing the entire coaching staff except for maybe Spier.

Good Cubs lineup indeed. It's about time the Reds moved up Dunn as well. I think last month he was hitting in the 6th spot. Go figure.

I can honestly say the same thing. I would change my plans just to watch the cubs game on tv if I had the chance to, but now I don't care as much. If I have things to do I wont put them off or change my scheduling just to see a game on tv. I'm done with that. -

There's no ? Baker has to go. The morning radio shows were ripping on him today because he tries to lay the blame on other and rarely does he look at the mirror and lay blame. Sure, the players have been stinking it up and havent done squat but you know what these guys need a fire lit under them. I dont care what they say about them not quitting. IMO, they have already quit.

I both agree, and disagree. Murton should be playing every day now that Hairston went down. Perez is a utility guy, and a very capable defencive player. I like having him on the team for that reason. He should not be playing every day, nor should he be batting 1st, or 2nd. He should be 7th or 8th, when he plays, which should be sparingly (e.g. to give a regular some rest). I agree. JMHO

If Cedeno doesn't start he should stay in the minors and get more ABs. I'm really puzzled that they have not sent him back to the minors. The guy is not getting any playing time and he wont now that Neifi and Nomar are here.

Aggreed, and aside from Nomar, and cpattt we would've been better off releasing the rest on that list.
