This angers me, greatly. Either you trust Hendry with the decision or you don't. If you don't, then fire him. It's a HUGE mistake allowing Hendry to stay here as GM. It really makes no sense, especially with his poor track record.
I'm going to keep taking the pessimistic approach until I see this organization finally do something right which may be never. IMO hiring Piniella is a terrible idea and cleaning house from top to bottom yet you leave a terrible GM here still in charge just shows how incompetent this organization still is. This is just terrible...
Why Hendry was kept is a mystery and another total screwup by this organization. We should've cleaned house and Hendry is taking his jolly ol' time selecting a manager how ridiculous really, there is no sense of urgency.
So what? I never said you had to agree with me. It is my opinion that having a guy like Nomar only helps or benefits your team. I think if healthy there is no doubt Nomar will help the team win. I agree with you there but to use the Red Sox as reasoning of them going to the World Series, I just don't see it because they were playing better without him.
Boston went to a World Series in a year that "injury prone" Nomar played for them. The Dodgers went to the playoffs in a year that "injury prone" Nomar played for them. Depending who you have to back up that injury prone player, I'd take a guy like Nomar on my team. That goes for JD Drew as well. So what? The Cubs did not make the playoffs with "injury prone" Nomar here. Also, I remember the Red Sox playing much much better after they got rid of him and he wasn't even part of the playoffs for them so how is that a factor?
