  1. Brooks is 36 years old. I'd rather take my chances with a young guy.
  2. It seems like the Bears have had issues throwing the slant pass properly since the beginning of preseason and into the first game.
  3. What happened to Cashner's K's? Seems like he isn't striking out as many people as before.
  4. I think both.
  5. Does it really matter who the catcher is? The Cubs are done this year. Let's hope Soto does a better job getting in shape during this offseason than he did last year.
  6. I was glad to see the Bears face off against the Broncos for week 3 of preseason because it was clearly evident how much better Cutler is over Orton. Broncos fan were complaining about the use of only short passes on offense, well, now I guess they will figure out what Orton's limitations are.
  7. Too little too late. He starts hitting once we're past the point where it could have helped. That's still disappointing. Hes been hitting since July, thats far from being past the point where it could help. Bradley is not being paid $10 million a year to hit singles and get on base; if he was having even an average year in homers and RBI's how much better would this team be? He's an epic failure in my book I really wanted us to sign Bradley during the offseason. Nobody expected him to be this bad and although I do love his OBP, 31RBI is not going to cut it.
  8. Let's not forget to add fat Soto and Mike Fontenot to the list as well. Because the disparity between 2008 Dero to 2009 Font and 2008 Soto to 2009 Soto is HUGE. Soto has definitely had a bad year, no doubt. But wasn't he injured twice? Plus the whole "pot test" distraction. He's the least of my worries moving forward. I think he'll be better next season. Fontenot was a disappointment, but I think a lot of people thought that might happen (though they certainly hoped it wouldn't.) I would be worried. He came to camp out of shape and recently, they showed a closeup of him on tv and he looks even bigger now than he did the beginning of the season.

  10. The Cubs really need to part with Hendry. His good moves don't even come close to covering up his mistakes.
  11. Don't worry. The cubs have one of the top gm's in the game to make things right. LOL
  12. Cubs are not making the playoffs..
  13. I don't know what irritates me more..seeing Gregg give up a homer to end the game or seeing him walk to the dugout like nothing happened after giving up the homer to end the game.
  14. Who else can play SS? He has no choice now because of the dumb move DL'ing Blanco. Blanco is 2 times the player Miles is. I can't wait for Hendry to be fired.
  15. Lou is such a moron. Why does he always play Miles? He can't tell that he's worthless?
  16. I doubt we win the division. The Cardinals have looked really good. We're probably the 4th or 5th best team in the NL right now. Kind of sad when you consider payrolls.
  17. Yeah, he was [expletive] horrible in 2007 and 2008. Oh, wait. Oh wait what? Did he not regress since he became a cub? He hasn't come close to his numbers that he had as a National. He's had leg injuries that sapped his speed. He was a "supposed" 40/40 guy he hasn't sniffed that here. I don't like him as a player and he's overpaid, the Cubs will be affected by his contract in years to come. Look at his numbers now and imagine how bad he will be 2 years from now and on.
  18. No surprise that Soriano started to regress the moment he put on a Cubs hat. It's never a good idea to give a 31 year old an 8 year contract. Hendry is such a terrible GM.
  19. I was cracking up when I heard Steve Stone on the Score a couple days ago say that this waiver move would never go through. He's clueless. I'm surprised that moron still has a fan base.
  20. Why do people care? Did he hit 30 homers in the majors? Until he does we shouldn't care what he does in the minors. I'm sure his numbers are comparable to what Hoffpaur and Fox have done in the minors. We don't have room for 1 more.
  21. I sure as heck don't think we will take the division from the Cards. Their top 3 starters have been really good and now their offense is solid. The wild card is a possibility but the Rockies have been playing pretty well.
  22. It's a travesty to the fans to see this POS still on the team.
