  1. Im sure its a lot more Lou than Hendry on this. Even with Dusty we always had a surplus of 2B's so who knows.
  2. Seriously. We now have Fontenot, Miles, Scales, and Blanco. What's the damn point of having so many 2b?
  3. What a dumb move. I have come to expect this from Hendry though.
  4. Why would we draft another 2B when we have nice depth there in the minors?
  5. Sounds like a horrible selection. I'd rather have gone with a potential 30/100 OFer.
  6. Just got in! WOW! This is why the Cubs will never go anywhere. Why pick a guy that k's a lot doesn't take a walk and at best has 12 hr potential? Horrible.
  7. I've been really pleased with Guzman's progress. In the beginning of the year it seemed he was giving up a run per outing but since that time he's been our best arm out of the pen.
  8. i havent been following the Bears hardcore but I'm startled and horrified to see that Craig Steltz could be a starter for this team Yeah, that's just not a good situation. Especially at free safety. He is 100% a strong safety and 100% a backup at this point. Our safety play is going to kill the team this year. I'm actually surprised we didn't make a move to improve the safety position during the offseason when help was available. Instead, we are taking huge risks implementing bottom of the barrel players or guys who haven't done it before at the position. We're screwed.
  9. Hendry is awesome.
  10. Agree 100%. We all knew he had past injury issues, but this is crazy so early. It doesn't help that he was been hitting so poorly either. I NEVER thought that would happen. Especially after the spring he had. I'm with you guys. Bradley was one of the targets I really wanted during the offseason. I knew he was injury prone but come on this is ridiculous. The guy can't even run without getting hurt? Unbelievable.
  11. I don't know who is worse Gregg, or Heilman.
  12. I think it's time we get rid of Heilman and bring up Hart.
  13. Not happening. Padres are looking to shed payroll not add.
  14. For Atkins and Hart, eh? :pig: throw in Vitters, Jackson, Cashner, Thomas and about 3-5 others, and we could be in business Doubt it.
  15. I'm not surprised. What do you expect from a bottom of the barrel GM? The guy doesn't know what he wants on his team year to year. Trying to get more left-handed is just stupid. I can understand making a move or two etc but they overdid it with the left-handed crap. I wonder what next year's pattern will be.
  16. Why did they make the change? Freel was limpin back to first after that awkard rounding of the bag...maybe he hurt himself. That guy is always hurt. Another bum that needs to get off this team.
  17. Miles and Cotts are off this team? Awesome. I know these could be temporary but I'll be happy to not see both of them at Wrigley any time soon.
  18. I assume his "it's time" didn't quite mean yet that it's time to pull the plug, but it probably does mean that Cotts has absolutely no extra rope left. Knowing Lou it probably means he's a goner. It's the right move. I just can't believe our bullpen has become such a joke.
  19. He didnt have much to chose from. It was either put out Ascanio, who barely escaped disaster the ining before or either Cotts, Heilman, or Patton. He had to save Guz for the 8th at the off chance we had the lead by then. Mrs. Marmol screwed us over. I've seen enough of Cotts to know that he should never have been on this roster let alone last night's game.
  20. Dempster- 4/52 Bradley- 3/30 Gregg- 1/4.2 Miles- 2/5 Dunn- 2/20 Unreal Hendry is a top 10 GM! LOL
  21. Hendry is awesome. The first move tonight should be to release Cotts. He's horrible.
  22. This came out of nowhere. Wow.
  23. Neither of those items make any sense whatsoever. Ascanio has been solid out of the pen which is much more than can be said for Cotts and Patton. I could really care less if we lose Patton back to the Rockies. He does nothing that Reinhard or Stevens cant do. And whats the point of playing Fox at catcher? If he makes it to the Cubs, 3rd base is where hes needed, and however bad he is there, Im sure hes much worse, and much less needed at catcher. I agree with you on all points.
  24. Did Hendry finally sell high? I didn't want DeRo gone and who knows what numbers he could put up as a Cub but so far DeRo and Wood have been busts for the Indians.
