  1. I beat you to that prediction. That's how the Cards deal. They don't like to give up their key prospects and players, and they don't. Daric Barton and Dan Haren for Mark Mulder? Try some original idea ;)
  2. Wait, you mean the million or so he made while playing isn't ognna buy the Cubs? At this rate, they might be going for that little ;) Plz win an nba title cubes and buy the cobs.
  3. I beat you to that prediction. That's how the Cards deal. They don't like to give up their key prospects and players, and they don't. They got a nice haul w/ Barton and Haren for Mulder.
  4. I wonder if Kerry will ever be able to go on a normal pitching rotation again.
  5. 266th! Plz start sucking Alex Rios.
  6. first of all, rusch has NO upside. none. secondly, you're kidding yourself if you think the cubs can get a "decent" prospect for a guy that would be w/o a team if not for the cubs. he's old and he has a 7.29 era. the cubs aren't getting crap for him. Don't forget a multi million dollar contract through next year. Y'all just believe in twisting the knife don't ya? :(
  7. Sorry Rich Harden :( Hopefully Manny can turn it around. Gave up a LOT for him.
  8. 1 to 7? That's some helluva movement from a lefty.
  9. Breaking news: Clemens breaks face, dignity is lost, decides to retire. That would be awesome.
  10. Heat in six.
  11. Not a chance. And Aaron Harang is much much better than Maddux is.
  12. Heat in 6.
  13. Uh oh. You know they'll go after Pods. Pods .271 .272 .395 line would improve our leadoff spot quite a bit. Even if he settles to last years level of .290 .351 .349 it would be an improvement. Its actually .372.
  14. Being a Cubs fan is a worse disease than Bird Flu.
  15. In expanded non 5x5 roto leagues (like the one I'm in that includes K/BB ratio), he will be a nice asset. Even in 5x5, if he's good in 3 categories, that's a solid pitcher.
  16. Stupid Kevin Gregg.
  17. I thought very, very strongly about it, but figured I'd wait and see how he did in his next start. Most people in my league follow the majors very closely but don't know as much about prospects, so I figured I'd be safe taking that approach. I play in a very deep league w/ 17 teams and I seriously considered using my mid level waiver priority position on him. I held out and ended up dropping Olmedo Saenz (who I love but I don't want to kill myself trying to figure out when he's gonna play) with my waiver spot still intact. There's gonna be lots of potential prospects coming up soon I need to get a beat on as well.
  18. I'd like to congratulate those who signed him to their fantasy teams before this outing.
  19. How do playoffs work in this league??
  20. Were you as blatantly anti-Wood and anti-Prior back in 2003 as you are now? I'm not really anti-Wood. I'm not a fan of the contract though. I started getting frustrated with them in 2004. After 2005, I realized they probably were never going to recapture their 2003 form, at least not together. I think it's best for the Cubs to move on from them. I was big fans of both and cut them a lot of slack, but after 2005, enough is enough. I'm tired of them attaching season after season to their health and performance only to watch them fail miserably. I hardly think the age of 25 or 26 is the time to give up on a guy with the upside of Prior. I think that's foolish and short-sighted. Woody is murkier, but even 28 is not that old. If you think about several of the "greats", they never put it together until the age of 28. Woody finally had the surgery he needed to have, his elbow and shoulder are now "fixed". I think the cubs owe it to themselves to not pull the trigger too quickly. Thank you, Dr. Andrews. If Wood stays healthy all season, you can bring up this post and mock me. To say he's "fixed" is short sighted.
  21. I think my team has decided to die too.
  22. He sure pissed himself tonight
  23. Its a typo.
  24. Perhaps you could quanitfy which specific range you're referring to instead of these vague timeframes. Exact dates and post some numbers.
