I saw on Chad Ford's report today referencing a deal that could send the Blazers' 4 and 30 picks (along with another player, Outlaw and Jack were the two mentioned...) for Toronto's number one pick. Why couldn't the Bulls get in on this? Outlaw would have next to zero use here playing the three, but he could be a GREAT trade chip and we could still probably net TT or Roy at 4, if that's truly Pax's desire. At 30, you could grab a big man who can play this year. Just thinking here...

Phoenix would be creaming themselves with that deal. If they stay healthy, they would EASILY be the best team in the NBA. Great depth (grabbing another shooter like Douby, Ager, or Shannon with their second pick) with Amare, T. Thomas, Tyson, and Kurt Thomas up front. Diaw is a stud in that offense. Backcourt of Bell, Nash, Barbosa, and late pick would be sweet for them. I like Marion. I'd love him even more if he were a few inches taller.
  3. Must be those booing fans. We all know that baseball players have such thin skins that the booing makes them cry and play like crap.
  4. I have revised my Roger Clemens wish to now include Ozzie Guillen. Extra points for hitting him in the mouth so he can't talk again.
  5. You sir are correct.
  6. There is one exception to this that I can think of and that's when teams used to do the Hack-A-Shaq and would just grab Shaq up until there were two minutes left in the half (when the foul became a shoot the free throws and get the ball back situation) to send him to the line. Shaq often had games where he would shoot 20+ FT's and occasionally had a game with 30+ FTA. He even had a game where he shot an unbelievable 39 FT's against Indiana in Game 2 of the 2000 NBA Finals. I'm not old enough to remember if they did this to Wilt as well but I believe they did IIRC. I believe that Wade broke Bob Petit's record for free throw attempts in an NBA Finals game.....so the numbers go back for a while Basketball-Reference It's the game on 2000-06-09. Wow....that I did not know......thanks.....quite the stat......for some reason I thought the announcers referred to Petit....I must have not been paying attention...thanks for the # I'm a Lakers fan. I remember the Hack-A-Shaq like it was yesterday and figured Shaq had a game of 25 FT's in the finals. I didn't know he had 39 though. That amazed me as well. Do you also remember Game 7 in 2002 against the Kings?? ;) One of these days, I am going to re-watch that game and just count the injustices that occurred.
  7. What is there to suggest Wood will make some sort of recovery and pitch regularly/effectively again this season? The silly questions go both ways. I'll go with Wood's track record of not pitching as the basis on the belief he won't be back in any regularly scheduled (ie every fifth or sixth day) appearance the rest of the season.
  8. The one redeeming factor is no Bill Walton slurping Dwyane Wade for an entire series. Though to his credit, Hubie picked up the slack.

I like Sene, but best case scenario Samuel Dalembert?

You're also assuming Paxson is looking to move Gordon. We've been down this path twice already, at least. Yes, I am making that assumption. If Pax's interest in Roy is genuine, the assumption is very plausible. You think it's going to happen? I don't. Lets look at another quote of mine... I didn't say I think it would happen. I'm saying it could, and I would not be shocked if it did happen. If Isiah is truly enamored with Ben, he may give up Frye in order to get him. Frye is exactly what this team needs.
  11. OTB: Looking for a young starting pitcher (doesn't have to be great quality...) Baldelli can be had too. Patterson is the guy referenced in the first sentence...

I don't think either trade is likely. I'd be shocked to see the Bulls and Knicks make another deal this off season, and, as I've said, I think Isiah only parts with Frye as part of a package for a superstar, like KG. Until he proves otherwise, I'll always assume Isiah is prone to the irrational.

Villanueva's name pops up a lot in the rumor mill. The Bulls would never do it, but drafting Roy and trading Hinrich for Charlie could work out well for both teams. I think the Raptors want more of a true PG for him than Gordon. I'd much rather do Gordon for Frye than Hinrich for Villenueava. I think the first trade is more realistic, also.

I haven't heard his name connected to the Bulls for a month at least. Seems kinda odd to me. I like Bargnani's potential a lot. The Bulls don't seem too, though. That, or they're laying low, trying to convince Toronto they can draft down a few spots and still draft Bargnani. He has the most potential of anyone in this draft. He doesn't seem to "fit" to me in Toronto. If I was Toronto, I would at least try to trade down a few spots (ie 4th or 6th, the Hawks are dead set on wasting their pick again) and taking Roy, Gay, or Morrison. That is their true need. They don't need another hybrid four.
  16. You're lucky if you get it for free. Costs me 6 bucks. For night games, there is ZERO parking. If its a day game, Wrigley's parking shortcomings are grossly exaggerated.

His physical gifts are off the charts and allow for a sky's-the-limit ceiling. Did you see him dominate in the NCAA's? You seem to be projecting him to take a step back with NBA coaching. Don't you think there's a big difference between dominating NCAA frontcourts and NBA frontcourts? He has to add at least 15-20 pounds no doubt about it, but his athleticism will make him a force at the very least on the defensive end. His mid range game is pretty good as well.
  18. Mark_R

For the record, I'd rather have Roy and Frye instead of Gordon and Thomas/Aldridge if given the choice. I think its pretty well documented I'm not the biggest Ben fan on the board, however. I'd rather have two guys with high ceilings (Roy and Frye) with size on their side than two guys with high ceilings (Gordon and Thomas, and to a lesser extent Aldridge) with limited and hindering size. All bets are off if Bargnani is available at 2 however.
  19. Outta the Cellar! Just wait til my team stops underperforming!

That's way too much to give up for Ray Allen. Allen is a good player, but Sweetney and the 16th is enough for a guy who will kill our cap space.
  21. Mark_R

I'll always remember the day he flipped off my friend and I at a high school game. What a pimp. Dynamite athleticism. He will be a good role player in the NBA, probably not a star.
  22. Mark_R

Draft Roy and trade Ben for Channing Frye :D
  23. This is why home court advantage in the NBA is so important. The refs become guinea pigs to the home crowd.
  24. Daniel Gibson went pro today! Viva CMA! Beware Kevin Durant.
  25. Woulda been as much fun as watching Shaq "play" basketball. This coming from a person who can respect Shaq's game. That doesn't mean I like it.
