If I were the Indians, I'd try to retain Millwood and go after AJB and lock up that division. That offense is only going to get better (and most of those guys are still really cheap).
If I were Lee and Lee's agent, I'd try and get big money from the Cubs after his best season (and what will likely be his best season) before he likely regresses. Perhaps not to his career norms, but still in regression.
He needs to be really awesome next year for me to even want it. He's pitching better lately, but I'm not confident in 9 million dollar numbers next season. Still don't want it to vest, but I'm resigned to it vesting.
I sincerely doubt that the difference between Soriano and Walker is worth 6.5 games. How about six weeks of Jerry Hairston and Jose Macias (and LOTS of Neifi) while Walker was hurt?
I'd rather get Brian Giles who is likely to be less money over the same time span and doesn't come with the same durability questions that Griffey does.

I'd keep Loaiza. Got a huge home park edge over Maddux. Loaiza is 4-4 at home with a 2.74 ERA and a 5/1 K/BB ratio with an OPS against just barely over .600 OPS against. Loaiza is strictly a matchups pitcher, but a pretty darn good one. Keep him.
If we were in a pennant race, I'd agree, but come on, this team is a joke. No need to keep running out a guy who is a HUGE hinderance for next season. See if the kids can pitch instead of the same old 5-6 IP and 3-Plus ER song and dance. Does it matter at this point if we don't have someone "better" than Maddux?
are you still implying that teams would/should throw games to face the Sox? I don't think any team would do that under ANY circumstances. Second of all, I don't get why teams wouldn't wanna face the BoSox. Their Starting pitching isn't all that great and all you ever hear is that teams with a strong 1-3 don't wanna be played. Sox have a strong 1-3... though their offense lacks what Boston's does, Boston's starting pitching isn't on par with the White Sox.
Doesn't that mean that every day that a team is off? That's bad revenue for baseball to have teams not playing on a Friday, Saturday Sunday. Not to mention it makes scheduling an even bigger headache than it already is.
That can't actually be true. Surely. It isn't, just another made up quote. Really? Why don't you ask Bruce Miles that? Are people speaking from a STRAIGHT UP deal of Hill for Dunn or were there others involved? Jim Hendry said he wasn't interested in trading Hill in a deal for Adam Dunn. Do we know who else was involved? And do you have a link to that? (not that I don't believe you, just that I dont' remember it).

If the Cubs can't win (they can't win anything anyway...) I'd love to see Dunn just knock the crap out of our pitching. More fantasy points and potential $$$
