  2. I hope you enjoy losing. I'd love to see Tressel put Ginn on Williams. That'd be fun.
  3. Erik, you spell "analyze" wrong in your signature.
  4. What's the SN?
  5. What about to the Phillies for Ryan Howard?
  6. Bernsie and Boers attack Santo's legs I've heard Boers and Bernstein does this garbage before and it is tasteless, amateur radio. I'm not sure if this belongs here or in rants, so if it needs to be moved, so be it.
  7. When I'm old and gray, I wanna be able to tell stories on how I saw some of the most amazing set of offensive talent college football has ever seen. Three straight championships. I am nothing even close to a USC fan, but my god are they fun to watch.

  9. We really need a good troll picture for this kind of nonsense.
  10. This sounds like a perfect question for Dusty to make another stupid remark.

I've got Cordero on my staff, too. :( Basically, I figured RFK would be idyllic for pitchers and stocked up. I like Livan, but the lack of K's, lack of CG's (this season), and terrible WHIP have been a sort of nuisance all season long. Pulling in a solid ERA and wins though.

I'm hoping he sits Livan. I'm also in a championship and I'm running low on innings to use... I've still got Johan and Peavy for one more start, and I need some cash. Sitting Cordero is huge for me.
  13. You can't sit these guys, they brought this team to where it is today
  14. As I was reading the Nen piece, I realized how much I truly despised Dusty Baker. Guess he found out how far Nen would go before he "broke." This makes me so damn mad. Yeah, that quote from Dusty (he's said it more than once) inspired me to relate the story about my son after he got a box of flexible pencils. He was so excited by them and thought they were the coolest pencils he'd ever seen. But the curiosity just killed him and he had to figure out how far he could bend them before they broke. One by one, he bent each and every one of those cool pencils until he found the breaking point of each one. Of course, he ended up crying because all he had left was a floor littered with the shattered remains of broken pencils. But at least he know where they would break. I remember that story from the Convention thread and it is a perfect analogy to Dusty's use of pitchers. And its still going on. We don't know how far Carlos can go until we actually see him with arm problems or, god forbid, TJS with this ridiculous overuse of him.

  16. Anyone got the link to the old thread about Dusty's total nonsensical ramblings?
  17. What makes you think Corey isn't going to be awful again next season?
  18. 27,000 fans at the Cell the other night on half price night, playing the team chasing you for the division is completely pathetic. I was there. And it was a joke. Sox fans have gotta learn to start supporting their team before Reinsdorf starts putting more money into that franchise. The argument, "well, if you field a winner, we'll be there" isn't holding true. And Jerry will throw out meaningless stats like fourth most in franchise history, blah blah blah. Show up and show your owner that you want him to improve your team. Maybe then, they'll get an annual winner.
  19. Point taken ;)
  20. I'm not saying that it's a snap, but they're only 3.5 games from being out of the playoffs, and that goes down to 3 if they lose the game they haven't played yet that they're "behind" in the standings counting-wise. And if it goes to 3 like you say (and for the sake of the argument, lets say the Yanks lose to move into a tie with the Red Sox) Standings in the league would be: Chicago: 91-61 Cleveland: 89-63 Yankees: 88-64 Red Sox: 88-64 It seems very implausible to have the Sox out of the playoffs, even if the Yanks lose I'm too lazy to do the scenarios to have them not make the playoffs, but they're highly unlikely. Especially playing the (recently swept by KC) Tigers four more times. Magic number for playoffs overall is 6.
  21. Nevermind.
  22. Why the Rangers? I anticipate them potentially dealing Soriano and moving Young back to second, but that team (hopefully) realizes their priorities are to acquire pitching and not waste funds on Nomar. Especially if you think he's gonna get a 5-7 million dollar base. They'd be incredibly foolish to do so. Dodgers seem like the most realistic with Izturis being very ineffective for most of the last 2/3 of the season. They need some thump. Very likely to take a risk on a guy like Nomar.
  23. Those not picking the White Sox to make the playoffs: do you realize how hard it would be for them to NOT make the playoffs? Especially considering the two AL East teams play each other on the last weekend of the season? Central: Indians West: Angels East: Yankees Wild Card: White Sox Central: Cards East: Braves West: Padres Wild Card: Astros Indians over the Angels Yankees over the White Sox Indians over Yankees Cards over Padres Braves over Astros Braves over Cards Indians over Braves
  24. I sat in the UD on Tuesday. Not as bad as I'd remembered. Though someone did fall a row behind us.
