I met Muhammad Ali at a Card Show as he was trying to get to his autograph booth but being swarmed by fans trying to get it at that point instead of having to pay for it. I was literally right in front of his face and people were pushing me to try and get to him. Ali looked frightened. It was an absolutely shameful display.
More terrible umpiring by Greg Gibson at second base on Yadier Molina. This is among the most inept I've ever seen umpries. Throughout the postseason, it has been dreadful and has no end in sight.
Tennessee should be getting more hype. They are a strong team. And to be fair, I think the ranking of OSU over PSU is a foresight for the rest of the season. Perhaps the rankings shouldn't be done in that matter, but how people rank them is subjective anyway. Losing Derrick Williams is a huge loss for that team and I wouldn't be shocked if they start to really struggle against teams they should be handling with ease.
I'd rather lose a game to USC in that fashion than beat a creampuff team. It says more about the ND team to me than had they walloped New Mexico State by 50 points.
You live in Chicago. You see all the White Sox crap ad nauseum on the news for about 10-15 minutes every evening. It will only get worse if they win it all.
That is the most ridiculous trade proposal I think you've ever made. Why would the Red Sox give up on their most promising young pitcher, an OBP Machine who will probably take over at third next season, AND Hanley Ramirez for two guys who are overrated?
Tremendous point. He goes out on top and it increases the Cubs' chances to win a playoff spot next season with one of the Murderers' Throw eliminated. Then we get to see 16 million dollar Andy Pettitte get hurt again!
Also regarding Lowell for Lowe (sounds strange) as the likely main holdups of the deal, is all of Lowell's contract going to kick in? I thought there was an out-clause that Lowell could trigger if there wasn't significant progress in the stadium happenings down in Dane County? If he's got one year left on his deal, that's a smart move for the Dodgers because they get away from Derek Lowe's 30 million or so left on his deal.
I wish the Cubs could play this brand of baseball well enough to make it to the World Series. I am NOT advocating small ball, but if the Cubs went that route, and made it to the WS, then hooray hooray!
I haven't laughed that hard in awhile. When I'm feeling upset about the White Sox winning again, I can always count on a good ol JR post lambasting the Sox and bring a huge smile to my face. Well done again.
