  1. Playing Aaron Rodgers would almost guarantee the number one overall pick. I fail to see the downside.
  2. For as good as his OBP is, you really have to wonder why he has never gotten more than 343 PA's in a year.
  3. Is this a contingency plan for Konerko? The way I see it, they NEED Konerko back more than ever. I would say its a major (plus?) if Thome plays more than 100 games. They have: Pods Anderson Dye Crede Uribe Iguchi Thome AJP? They need some thunder.
  4. I'm voting the same, and my examples are the New England Revolution and the Orlando Magic. Utah Jazz wtf.
  5. Vance, couldn't Patterson be more feasibly be placed in a deal for Vazquez and one of the other two guys who we sought? Have the Backs had a legit CF since Steve Finley? All I remember seeing was the legendary Quentin McCracken there for most of last season IIRC.
  6. Not for the money he's due. I'd rather try and take Vazquez off the Backs' hands and get them to throw in Carlos Quentin instead. At this stage, Clement is a "bad" contract, and its not like the situation in Zona with Vazquez, who could be considered a salary dump and get a solid player with him in return. Passsssssssssssssssssssssssss.
  7. Bucknell upsets the Orange in the Carrier Dome!? wow.
  8. MSU certainly has top five talent. They will get a big boost when Matt Trannon comes back on board as well. Need some muscle down low.
  9. Wow, that was a ridiculous thing to say. This has hardly been 18 pages of complaining. I've seen a lot of the space used for questions, clarifications and praise. But it's good to see the spirit police spring into action to try and haul in those evil people who have the audacity to question a move made by the impeccable Cubs management team. I'm just glad we're all above labels, since you know, this board hates them so much.
  10. I agree with all of your points except the last one. Painter's recruiting class was not all that stellar. Nate Minnoy, who dominated Wofford the other day is going to get killed in the Big Ten. He's 6' 3" and AT LEAST 260 pounds. Lacks athleticism and will be worn down by more up-tempo teams and guard oriented offenses (every team in the Big Ten except Wisky and OSU). Lutz and Marcus Green (who I saw play maybe 30 or 40 times) are going to be better big ten players than Minnoy. But lets not get ahead of ourselves on Painter. None of the guys he brought in are highly touted players.
  11. Jesus, I can barely afford to go to games anymore.... Not like I'd wanna shell out 50 some odd dollars for a seat for the squad they're putting together at this point, though..
  12. Thing is, Illinois knew they would/will need a point guard when Dee Brown eventually leaves. The only (silly) logic that I can think of is that they pull all their eggs in the Sherron Collins basket, figuring that if they landed him, Freeman would essentially be a backup PG at best. That's such flawed logic, but the only reasoning I can come up with at this point. Illinois really needs a commitment from Derrick Rose (even if only for one season) to at least solidify themselves in the Chicagoland area.
  13. For season ticket holders: How do you find time to go to all the games? Or do you just sell off the tickets you can't use? I feel like an idiot for asking this, but I've always wondered how people manage it.
  14. Illinois really missed the boat on Tony Freeman, he's a helluva player.
  15. I have both and it is still a major annoyance. Smart post Don.
  16. Are either of these relieving clowns Type A FA's?
  17. That's true. Vikings 21 Packers 14 Two of the Vikings touchdowns are scored on special teams. Either way, my money is on the Packers losing. You should be rooting for the Packers. I know I'm rooting against them. I want that number one pick, REAL badly. Trade down for someone who is desperate enough for Matt Leinart and hopefully get Reggie Bush... There is no way I would ever root for the Packers to win. I am fine with them tying up a ton of cap space in a first overall pick. Reading is a skill.
  18. Neifi can't be dealed til June, I believe.

  20. You're giving both (crappy) offenses a lot of credit. Panthers 17 Bears 13
  21. Where have the figures for the deal been reported at?
  22. I'd like to see Sweetney drop about 10 pounds or so, so we can have him on the floor for 35-40 minutes a night and not worry about him becoming gassed in the fourth.
  23. Didn't Burnitz out OPS Wilkerson? I think the conversation for Wilkerson would start with Felix Pie and mosey on down the line.
  24. The BWAA are stupid.
  25. Monday sucked. Lets not suck on Wednesday, please.
