  1. Bob, wouldn't Michaels essentially be a one year rental? I'm going off the assumption that Pie would be ready in 2007. Michaels doesn't appear to project enough from a slugging standpoint to be a productive enough corner outfielder. Plus, he's not exactly a spring chicken, either, age wise.
  2. Hey a fight between abuck and CFICA not about Rich Hill!!! I can honestly say that I'm shocked.
  3. I bet tomorrow's Mariotti article is about how Kerry Wood has never won more than 14 games, Mark Prior is as fragile as a poorly made vase, Z has a bad temper, Milton Bradley's going to Prison, Cubdom is in disarray, and the Blizzard of Oz is making Captain Toothpick look like a fool.
  4. I'm reserving judgment until Trannon gets back in the swing of things. Is Drew Naymick still starting on the interior? I like Trannon, but I don't know if he's good enough to keep up with White and Killingsworth. Naymick is a less talented Nick Smith, and that is really saying something.
  5. MSU is the most talented, but they will get ABUSED on the inside by White and Killingsworth. White should be back by the January 11 game, shouldn't he?
  6. I think that OSU's D is very similar to the Tennesse D that ND did quite well against. Fast, lots of blitzs, etc. ND does have the height advantage that they have exploited all year, and if Carpenter is out for the game, I expect Fassano to have a HUGE day. However OSU has so much speed on offense that it will be hard for ND to keep up. If Tressel is smart he will do what every team should have done all year long, abuse the secondary. I think this game may be a classic example of good D triumphing good offense. While ND is a great team, I just don't think their D is good enough to handle the speed that OSU has. Of course I thought that against USC and turned out pretty close. Should be a great game either way. EDIT: Interesting note, AJ Hawk is dating Quinns sister. You also forgot the most important point (as did I, to be fair). Ohio State is the BEST two loss team in the country.
  7. I'm rooting for the exact oppositte. Rooting for FSU??? I understand PSU is a Big 10 rival, but geez, FSU?? Eh, the PSU fans here would be infinitely more entertaining if they lost. The usual suspects: refs jobbed us we forgot to pay our players derrick williams is out If PSU does win, I won't be all that unhappy.
  8. It should be a great game, but I'm going to enjoy seeing ND get walloped ;) Rootin BCS for: USC FSU UGA (really don't care) OSU I really hope Dustin Fox is up for the Samardzija challenge. I really don't think ND will have much success running against the Buckeyes. OSU needs to give Ginn at least 15 touches vs. that porous D. If they do, Buckeyes will win.
  9. Aren't Loretta and Mueller essentially the same player?
  10. We won the national title that season beating some incredible NFL talent. Great football game. Not gonna deny that it probably wasn't Pass Interference. But if it happens for mizzou, PSU, or whatnot, I'm fairly certain you wouldn't really care if you ended up winning. GO BUCKEYES!
  11. Resident idiot, Dayn Perry disagrees with you. Possibly one of the dumbest things I've seen written. Miguel Tejada is somewhere in a corner, crying right now.
  12. All these ND arguments are silly. Some like ND. They think they belong. Some hate ND. They don't think they belong. There's the crux of 2 months of bickering, some of which I've taken part in, so I'm partially to blame.
  13. I heard the Levine report on the Bulls Postgame tonight about it involving Jerome Williams. Can't say I'm too excited. But hey, THAT'S WHAT WE GOT RUSCH FOR!
  14. What's your source on this? I heard it from some Aussie news station.
  15. Jon, don't you represent like half of the student section? ;)
  16. If Marquis is the centerpiece of a deal for Abreu, why wouldn't the Cards give up two comprable prospects for Abreu themselves?
  17. If you're caving on 06, there's no use in keeping Lee around. I thought of a (probably) ridiculous trade idea off the top of my head about an hour ago: Derrek Lee for Brad Wilkerson and Nick Johnson. Edit: if that's not enough for Lee, possibly J. Patterson too?
  18. I'm glad USC did that. Put to rest all those "wait, UCLA only lost once, but they're still not very good, but they deserve a BCS" I was hearing. Or something along those lines. Point is. UCLA got exposed badly. Horrible performance.
  19. Damn, you're gonna be spending a load on shipping ;)
  20. My opinion on bringing Nomar back would be more positive if I were confident in our chances in 2006, and I'm extremely pessimistic about our chances. Probably plays a role ;)
  21. Cedeno can probably put up nearly those numbers. For less. And to gauge how good he can be in the future.
  22. I don't want Nomar back. I'm resigned to the fate that 2006 will be a failure and that signing nomar instead of getting Cedeno acclimated to the majors would be a step in the wrong direction for the future. This team needs to reload with young players, unfortunately with our doofus' in charge, it will likely be Mickey Sasser or Gary DiSarcina playing Short for us next season.
  23. I agree, this could potentially ruin any kind of "relationship" NSBB has with Len Kasper in the future.
  24. FSU really should play WVU so we can have the annual "BCS game nobody cares about."
