  1. Brinoch, come 2006 and Pie is ready, do you shift Wilkerson to a corner outfield spot? Is he productive enough from a corner OF spot? He was pretty darn mediocre out there last season. Good, well thought out post, btw. Just see some concerns about a guy like Wilkerson (who also needs to learn how to efficiently run on the basepaths) ;)
  2. I would definitely rather have lugo - for a quarter of the price. I thought he was slated to make about 5.5 million next season?
  3. That's encouraging. 3-year splits Day: .341 .395 .438 .833 Night: .288 .338 .354 .692 Those are pretty drastic numbers. I like the split. But I still don't particularly want Pierre. I'd much rather have Wilkerson. What if we only end up giving up Corey and a Rule V droppee anyway? Who knows what we'd have to give up for Wilkerson?
  4. I don't like players with two 1st names as their 1st and last name. :) Jason Michaels is pretty darn close.
  5. I'd rather have Othella starting than Songaila. Songaila just isn't very good. Could this team be the worst team in the division and STILL make the playoffs??? Think about it, outside of the division, the only clearly good teams are Miami, New Jersey, and Washington. Who else is good enough to take a playoff spot from the Bulls?
  6. I believe Beltran's inactivity on the basepaths (one of the main intrigues that made him a hundred millionaire) was a result of him battling a leg injury all season long.
  7. I swear, Yahoo is the most inept site ever. I couldn't submit a pick 4 HOURS BEFORE GAMETIME!? What, do I "last minute knowledge" that is going to swing my pick one way or another?! What a joke.
  8. Would you rather watch the Punt Fest in Chicago?
  9. Bring on Michigan!!!!!!!!!!
  10. IMB, I don't think its a stretch to say that Wood needs to work on his mechanics.
  11. I'm guessing Rooney has a career year.
  12. Truffle, you are very generous to give Georgia credit for a "good win" over Boise State. Georgia doesn't have the resume that some other teams have. One loss. Two loss. Boise State is 7-2 but I don't consider them to be anywhere near the class of some of the other good wins you gave credit for. Great analysis, and appreciate the lack of O$U jokes ;)

Does anyone know if that pick is conditional? Like, if the Knicks get a top 2 pick or something, they keep it? It's the Bulls picks unless it falls below #25 overall. If it's 26 or below, I believe the pick goes to the Jazz and the Bulls get the Knicks first-round pick in 2007. Oh LaMarcus Aldridge, welcome to Chicago.
  14. Corey's defense would be a great tool for that park. Corey getting away from this idiotic regime would probably help him. But I don't see him being an all star or anything away from Chicago. And I'd do that deal in a heartbeat. Pierre in a contract year isn't going to post some .330 OBP. Also, how was his ratio of bunts to hits last season? I have to imagine that having the taller thicker grass on the infield at Wrigley would help increase his bunting proficiency.
  15. None of the dopes at ESPN (all 17 who did their little mock vote) voted for Derrek Lee. Shocking, I know. I'm just shocked no one voted for Barry Bonds ;)
  16. How old is Pierre? I thought they have done many studies on "speedster single hitters" and how their production falls after a certain age. Pierre turned 28 in August, and is a free agent after this season. This should make him pretty cheap for the Cubs player wise...right? Cuse, they've been speculating all morning on the Score (take with a grain of salt) that they're talking up a straight swap of Patterson for Pierre.
  17. Pretty easy to do when you consider who they've already signed this offseason. Also being resigned to Neifi definitely starting if we don't Furcal doesn't help. I don't see anyway that JH brings Nomar back.
  18. TheDude, I'm also worried about his durability. If his durability is a problem in center field, we can either fill it with Greenberg, Pie (if he's ready)or someone cheap via trade (Lofton?) midseason. In Right Field, we don't really have an impact corner outfielder waiting in the wings (or one that I could realistically see being dealt right now) to produce enough numbers in the likely event that Bradley's health goes south.
  19. Have you ever watched him play the outfield or are you just offering an uninformed opinion? What's with the hostility today?
  20. I hear Kerry is bowling with his left hand. Thank goodness.
  21. I have warmed up to the idea of getting Furcal over the weeks. My only (unrealistic) wish is that if they MUST  deal Todd Walker, please please please either get Luis Castillo or just give the job to Ronny Cedeno. I cannot take another year of all Neifi.
  22. Drew Rosenhaus is an amazing character.

I'd rather have it in 2007 when Greg Oden will be available. I would not mind LaMarcus Aldridge, however. Problem with the Knicks is that they sign the same freaking player all the time. Nice scorers, but all shoot first, bad shooters (none of Marbury, QRich, and Crawford are over 41 percent shooting. That is horrid.) and an unmotivated Antonio Davis who doesn't want to be there and an overrated center in Eddy Curry. Larry Brown is in for a LONG tenure in New York. Good luck getting most of those clowns (I think AD might be their best defender sadly) to play some defense.
  24. The Bulls CANNOT keep getting off to the slow starts like these. Can't play catch up every night. Start: Deng Sweetney Chandler Gordon Hinrich Bring Duhon in for 20-25 a game. I still am confused why Othella Harrington is not getting more PT at the four spot instead of Songaila who's offense is limited and isn't aggressive enough on the glass. Sweetney and Harrington should be getting the majority of the PT at the 4.
  25. We've already wasted 5.5 million
