  1. Here's the official link on it http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2120055
  2. wonder who's next if Park won't accept the trade.
  3. The most fun Jaxx player to watch that I've ever seen was Jaisen Randolph. I saw him catch a ball at the warning track at Smokies Park, turn around and throw a dart to home and get an out. It didn't bounce, it was a laser to home plate to catch Felipe Lopez. One of the best minor league plays I've ever seen. Where is Jaisen Randolph now?
  4. So how the hell did he know Kerry and Prior would get injured. Dont tell me they are injury prone either. Percival has been hurt in the past. And priors injury was a total freak accident. I think it's fairly safe to say that Wood is injury prone now.
  5. They did it because Kline refused an assignment to AA Bowie. It was in the Baltimore Sun yesterday or the day before.
  6. Even if the trade doesn't go down it doesn't necessarily mean the poster made it up. We know from the Bruce Levine fiasco earlier this year that trades can be reported by reputable sources and still not get finalized. Perhaps one of the teams backs out at the last minute, or perhaps the poster's source got bad information. One false report (if in fact it does turn out to be false) shouldn't be grounds for banning somebody. If he repeatedly makes false reports (as opposed to one time) that would be different. agreed NCCubbieFan!! I don't think he'd risk his membership if he hadn't heard something. When older members post something like the above, it makes newer posters not want to even post and get involved in the discussions
  7. Maybe he figures if Sosa hits into a double play that Roberts is fast enough to beat it out. I dunno.
  8. I heard on Sporting News Radio on the way into work tonight that Byrnes is going to Colorado in exchange for Joe Kennedy and a prospect. It is Kenny Rosenthal, so take it for what it's worth, it was also announced in the update that the Preston Wilson deal to Washington was done with Wilson and cash going to Washington, and Zach Day and a minor leaguer or two to Colorado
  9. I don't think the Red would take Patterson, and I don't think the Reds would give up Wagner under any circumstances. He's young and cheap, something Cincy seems to value. Cincy doesn't need another OF'er unless it's a prospect. It wouldn't surprise me to see us have to pay for someone to take Corey.
  10. Nah, that's too much. We don't need or want Milton, that would strictly be a salary dump -- which is a disadvantage to Cincy. I think you're more likely to see something like Dubois, Hill and Sing for Dunn and Milton. Swap Sing out for a legitimate prospect and I think you've got it. I don't think they'd want Sing. He's an older prospect.
  11. Our manager is Dusty Baker, I think we know the ending to that one. Here are some examples Exhibit A:Hee Sop Choi Exhibit B:Jason Dubois Exhibit C:Ronny Cedeno Exhibit D:Matt Murton He'll sit on the bench instead of playing everyday
  12. You're right. My guess is all three will stay in Atlanta until they retire with some nice AOL/Time-Warner stock. On the other hand, disciples of these three are available. Fredi Gonzalez has worked with Cox. Ned Yost also worked for him. Stealing some guys away from their player development staff might also be possible. Vance, there's no such thing as "nice AOL TW stock" it's in the crapper just like the rest of the media stocks, so they'd better not retire for a while.
  13. I hope this kid can turn out to be the steal of the Nomar trade, much in the same way Clement was the steal of the Alfy trade.
  14. Are you being serious?...I dont remember his first game, so I cant tell. I'm serious. My memory could be wrong, but I remember watching his first game on WGN. His first AB, I remember predicting a homerun from him. The pitch comes, and he hits a screaming line drive that at 1st looked like it would be a homerun. But it ended up being a screaming flyout to the warning track. I thought that was a sign of good things to come...well, it wasn't. Of course, my memory could be horrible and that isn't what happened at all. The fans loved him as well. I can remember watching him play at the University of Tennessee and being impressed with his hustle and drive. I was thrilled when the Cubs got him, and loved the attention the fans gave him both at Tennessee and in Chicago. Is he in Minnesota or Rochester now?
  15. I really don't know how much money I'd be willing to give up for Schurholtz, Mazzili, and Cox. It would probably be close to one billion dollars, but it would be well worth it. I really don't see any of the three of them leaving Atlanta soon if ever.
  16. shouldn't this be in the minor league forum now? :D
  17. Rob is a "Cub Killah", and it would be worth a marginal prospect or a decent one if not for the sake of keeping him from killing us in the future IMO.
  18. So who takes Murton and Greenburg's spot at AA? Who goes to the AA all star game in place of Murton unless he's sent back down?
  19. Not gonna happen, Dusty wouldn't play him anyways. Gaithright is cheap and good, something that suits TB's owners all the way around.
  20. In what alternative universe would Dusty Baker play Pie every day? Or, just what do you think would have to happen to this team to see Dusty leave the team by August? Funny, in a sad way. "We need speed off the bench man, Once Jose Macias gets on man, we'll sub in Pie to use that speed man"
  21. Amen to that Idea. Stop waiting and do something. There's no excuse for Dunn to end up with the Birds or the Stros while Hendry patiently waits. Offer em anyone besides Pie and get the deal done. If it takes Pinto, Guzman, Hill and Dope, then do it. We can't let a 25 year old with as much potential as Dunn slip away. I'm of the opinion that since Rich Hill isn't gonna get to pitch in the majors, then we need to deal him before his stock drops completely like Sosa, Farnsworth, and soon to be Patterson.
  22. Boston has talked about trying Ramirez out in Center after Damon leaves, and moving Renteria to second and playing Hanley at Short. That package wouldn't net us Youks alone, much less one or the other or both.
  23. Good for the West Tennessee guys!!!! I'm glad to see this.
  24. Hendry did everything we wanted him to do. Some wanted him to get Nomar, and some wanted him to get Cabrera. He did both, even if he only kept Cabrera for a few moments. I never thought I would say this, but I'm more pleased with the job Hendry did this year, than last.
