    And I for one am glad to see him back!!!! Welcome back Steve. It looks like it's gonna be a battle for sure. We can't even score 14 points so I'd take that spread every day of the week. I think it's gonna be too close to call. A lot of Vol fans hate The Ole Ball Coach, but I love him. Darth Visor is a heck of a nickname for him. Best of luck SCCubsfan!!!

    I'd have liked for them to have done more, but not a bad trade. Gerut for Lawton and we saved our minor leaguers. Now we just have to wonder what JH is gonna do so a lot of them don't get Rule V'ed.

    Texiera IMO would take at least Prior/Zambrano (which we aren't gonna do) Felix Pie Brian Dopirak and another minor league pitcher or two. Texiera is a pipe dream.

    I couldn't disagree more. Cedeno hasn't had the chance to prove whether he's good or not, and Murton's cheap infield hits are still hits. Murton doesn't have the power stroke that a LF'er should have, but he's getting on base in his starts and has looked decent in the field. As far as Hill having TJS down the road, well he's a Cubs pitcher isn't he :)

    The Giants have made a late bid for Randy Winn, offering two mid-level prospects, according to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. A Mariners source told the paper Saturday that there is a 90 percent chance Winn will be dealt before the deadline. The Mariners will likely recall Chris Snelling after Winn goes. Winn could play center and left in San Francisco. Jul. 30 - 7:41 pm et Source: Seattle Post-Intelligencer Either the West is an absolute joke or Sabean is off his rocker. Sabean doesn't even have a rocker, the rockers belong to Bonds, Alou, Visquel, and the other geezers on the team.

    I don't see how Reyes and Wainright is that much better than Hill and Mitre. Reyes and Hill are a tossup IMO, but Wainwright is much better than Mitre I think even with his arm problems.

    I thought Shopvac was a top catching prospect. Why the heck would they trade him for Bigbie? He's only a marginal ML outfielder. Bigbie's the hot name this season for some reason. Shoppach is no better off in Colorado than he was in Boston. He'll be behind Closser and have little chance of playing much like being behind Tek and Mirabelli.

    Well cancel out Shoppach and add Bigbie in if the Sox swap him there. Do they even have a place for him to play? I'd guess this definitely means Huff is gone for sure now.

    If this deal goes thru (I don't think it will, there were too many parts involved yesterday, and now even more) where does Tampa play Ramirez? They've already got Upton that sweet Lou won't play. Tampa's got too many good prospects not to play and/or trade a few of them. This is a minor league fan's dream Upton, Ramirez from Boston, Cantu, Milledge?, Delmon the Great as opposed to Dmitri the Lesser, Baldelli (surgery I know), Crawford, Shoppach, Gomes, and who else am I leaving out? Add Phelps in at DH/1st Base and you've got a crowd.
