  1. Michael Barret's speed was the key to that run.
  2. Dempster lost 25 pounds? I did not know that.
  3. It's weird to hear them talk about how Piazza will provide that added dimension of speed over Frank.
  4. Sounds like the wind is not working to the Cubs favor today.
  5. A's announcers are ragging on the Cubs' line-up. Nice start for Miller.
  6. If you read the article, you'll see that his arm troubles began when Girardi sent him back into a game after an 82-minute rain delay. Shades of Jon Lieber.
  7. I'll predict a foul pop to the catcher for Cesar.
  8. And some of you wanted to ditch Larry Rothschild in the off-season.
  9. Don't forget the immortal Manny Alexander. Although he was never charged so I suppose he has plausible deniability. Hard to believe that Manny Alexander has gotten major league at-bats in each of the last three seasons. Even harder to believe is that none of those at-bats came while playing for Dusty-led Chicago Cub squadrons.
  10. I hope Santo isn't taking this too hard. It just isn't worth it.
  11. Damnit. I bet Joe Morgan is somehow behind this. j/k
  12. This one is very funny...
  13. Lou Piniella speech (at a Cub Caravan stop, I am willing to guess)... Lots of "Louuuu" chants, but the biggest response comes when Lou mentions that Wood and Prior are healthy. Listen for all of the derisive cheers and catcalls. If I am not mistaken, Lou responds with, "if you can believe it." ---
  14. Predict the course of unneccesary Super Bowl hype... 1) Peyton Manning 2) Lovie and Tony: 2 Black Head Coaches 3) Rex Grossman 4) Brian Urlacher / Marvin Harrison 5) '85 Bears
  15. All I can say is, with a two week window, keep on running the football.
  16. If the Bears defense plays as it did against the Saints, the Colts will be dead in the water.
  17. Run, run, run. Keep on running it up the gut.
  18. Indeed. It was purely amazing how he still caught that. I should add, this is my wallpaper.
  19. Play of the game! http://espn-i.starwave.com/media/apphoto/CXA14501212256.jpg
  20. Damn, I'm old. I still have Super Bowl XX on tape (I was 14 years old at the time) as well as the Cubs clinching in '84 and and '89. I guess the closer you are to realizing your own mortality, the more you panic/realize that the Cubs may never win a World Series in your lifetime.
  21. Not me. I want both :D Bears will always have '85. With the Cubs, we're left with Bartman. That said, GO BEARS!!!
  22. I'm as much a Bear fan as I am a Cub fan, but I would still trade it all in for a Cub World Series.
