He's trying to show some hustle? Maybe he thinks he has a chance to make the team or to be an early callup... He was like 10 feet away from the wall when he started that dive. I'm all for hustle, but that's just asking for trouble. There's a difference between playing hard and playing recklessly. Ask Pete Reiser. I'd be pissed if a Cub outfielder tried that.
