Movement, spots it well, velo? Rising FBs are a myth, but to the naked eye, that thing just takes off. Could I hit it? :pig: Yep, they just go down slower than other fastballs. I really enjoy watching somebody throw a fastball like that.
Like a nice 34 year old middle reliever who is having a career year! I say we go get Steve Trachsell. He pretty much led us to the playoffs last year and can teach our young pitchers like Lilly and Marquis. Yep, a gamer and an innings eater. Plus it will allow us to get that struglling RIch Hill back to Peoria's bullpen to work on what's wrong. Now you're talking! Do you think they'll bite with just Pie or should the Cubs add Gallagher and Donaldson as well?

Lou was really annoyed about the HBP Pie had the other day. It's called hitting not being hit. It may be possible that Lou wants a left bat he can trust and having Pie is not want he wants in that role.
The giants are talking about giving Zito the Hill treatment. They'll move him to the bullpen for one turn of the rotation to work on some things, then bring him back as a starter. Is it his mechanics or is his arm no longer capable of throwing the fastball he once threw? Both? The second is definitely the case, but I'm not sure about #1. Apparently the Giants think there's something correctable there. I wonder how much technology these teams use to break down mechanics? With all the advances in it you could break down Zito to the nth degree and try to see what's different from 3 years ago. I'd love to have a guy just film the kids and break it down in super slow mo and put it on a 52 inch HD TV to study.

Your 2nd sentence doesn't follow from the first. It sounds like you're saying Mars would sell off the naming rights to Wrigley Field. Not only that, but Buffet is purchasing Wrigley with cash! There is no debt. I think he's a very interesting man, is there a chance he might buy the Cubs as well? I'd love to see him get out his wallet and count the cash as he puts it into the CEO of Wrigley's hand.
Rah rah has to be careful because of the glass house he has built in this lawsuit. A lot of players get away with so much they lose touch with reality and the a suit like this may open up some other stuff and possibly throw some other players under the bus as well.
HUH?He's probably wondering where his post went. Yeah, I've done this before and wondered where the heck it went until I hit view your posts.
Every time I look at the Zito deal I think of this one by the Pirates. I'm still up in the on which one was worse but if Zito continues his touchdown a game ERA he'll probably win.
