  1. That's where he would be in my world too but we have to live in Dustys and no way do I see Murton starting over Burnitz and God knows who else they have in the OF.
  2. Joe Pa and the AD for Syracuse got into a little thing let's say about forming an all sports Eastern league in the 70's. For some stupid reason it wasn't formed and the Big East as a basketball only conference was then formed. After the Big East was formed they would not let Penn State in and I'm not exactly sure the reason why. Penn State then wanted to schedule the eastern teams Syracuse, WV, and BC in 2 for 1's because of the loss of revenue...twice at Penn State and then once at the other school field for football and it was turned down by those schools. Penn State then was either asked or or was asked by the Big 10 to join and there they are. Miami wanted to improve it's basketball and joining the Big East was a no brainer for them. I believe around the same time Florida State joined the ACC.
  3. Maybe that's why Hendry wants guys that can catch the ball, there are only five guys out there.
  4. Can Jacque Jones play CF? It would really...and I mean really bother me if Hendry goes bargin hunting for the OF.
  5. Sadly, Baker would not. Dudes been there.
  6. I would rather have Vasquez for the same amount of money. I just don't like not knowing which Clement will show up each day.
  7. So if this happens what picks do the Cubs lose with these 2 signings?
  8. I don't believe Walker or Nomar got a raw deal, or are getting a raw deal. I just think the Cubs are making a mistake with them. If they end up improving the trade with a Walker trade, I'll have no problem. That's part of the reason I really wanted that option picked up. Now if Hendry does sign Howry that in my mind means he will use Walker in a package to get a quality impact bat...fingers crossed.
  9. Free agents go to Dusty because they know if they start to play poorly they still will get the benefit of doubt. I'm still waiting for Baker to get some of those impact players that will play no matter who their manager is.
  10. I think it depend$ on on how much the $tate wants the Fi$h to remain in Florida.
  11. Is Philly really that tough of a sports town? I honestly don't know. Anyone? Anyone? Beuler? NY is absolutely brutal. IMO NY, Boston and Philly are the hardest places to play. The thing about NY and sometimes Boston is that you also get a lot of national recognition if you are doing well. I don't think that happens in Philly nearly as much.
  12. I warned you all politely once and it was ignored so until the thread will remain locked for awhile. Let's not have this escalate into a debate on something off topic please. If you want to have a personal arguement please do it via e-mail or AIM and not on here. Thank you.
  13. Or you could just keep his current deal and use him as a bridge to Cedeno. If you are giving up quality prospects I want more than a bridge. You shouldn't have to give up a LOT to get Lugo, because he's only got a year on the contract. IMO the lack of available quality SS's makes him worth more and if Furcal gets 10 per for 4 or 5 years I see teams giving up a lot for Lugo if he is dealt. Then take on Huff's contract and spin him somewhere to be a DH in order to lower the cost of acquiring Lugo. It's a good idea to piggyback Lugo with a salary dump. Unless there is a lot of interest in Huff since there are very few quality OF free agents out there.
  14. That must be a grandfathered rule, as I think I read that OSU's football graduation rate is about 10% Or is it the players get 10% of the ticket sales? I find it amazing that this school gets away with the things they do.
  15. Isn't it hot in Vegas in the summer? Isn't that one of the excuses they use in Florida on why the fans don't go to the games?
  16. Let's please get back on topic and stop the labeling of posters. Thank you.

  19. I pretty much can see every Yankee game twice as part of a package on YES with my cable system. Is it possible for the Cubs to do the same thing?
  20. Ryan + Novoa + Cedeno = Howry + Eyre + Neifi moneywise We might be looking at that regardless, and it's part of the point. If you are going to spend big money in the bullpen, get big talent and big performance. I agree. I can see Hendry getting Howry, Eyre a starter and Ryan with his money and going budget on the rest of the team.
  21. That won't happen. I hear Temple is still looking for a new conference :D Maybe the Big 10 can get a team from the Big East. Pitt or WVU? Syracuse and the Big Ten have had a few discusions in the past about joining. I admit that WV or Pitt would be a better match geographically though.
  22. If the Cubs get Ryan get ready for Jacque Jones in right and CPatt or someone like him in center along with Macias on the bench.
  23. still rumor Thanks, I think it helps him that his agent floated this rumor out there with the Yanks desperate for pen help.
  24. Is this deal official yet or is it still a rumor?
  25. I think this is Manny's way of getting his last big contract. When/if the sox trade him he is going to want a multi year deal with the new team. I see this guy as being a big problem until he gets that cash. How much do you all think he should be payed when he gets traded?
