I get that feeling as well. I think he'd be a good utility man. But Dusty hated him, and it's possible they would let him walk. Imagine Hairston being let go and Macias re-signed? This would peeve me off royally. To heck with chemistry I want to field the best team possible. -
I would rather have Wilson if the Cubs have another leadoff option like Furcal.

They're 29th in the AP and 32nd in the Coaches. They should be ranked and IMO it would be a nice thing to happen for a small program like that. They have earned it.

I think Hendry has many different scenrios planned out in case Furcal signs or doesn't sign but Wilson in RF is plain foolish IMO unless the Cubs have a 30 HR guy in CF.

That is a lot of looneys and twoneys the Jays are spending! IMO Toronto is one of the most beautiful cities in America. This is getting crazy. First they offer 5/55, then they move to America! Stop the insanity. :P Is Canada in North America? Last time I looked it was. :wink:

I would be extremely happy if we end up with Bradley and Furcal. Me too and if the Cubs could get Bradley for a couple of prospects it would leave the Cubs with a lot of prospects plus Walker and Cpatt to move for an impact bat in right. I wonder if the Dodgers would want CPatt for Bradley?

No idea but he has played with Walker and Nomar. Even though Nomar is a free agent I'm sure he could give Manny his opinions on the Cubs.

I've said for a while now that I could live with Wilkerson in RF if someone like Bradley is in CF. It also offers you some insurance in case Bradley would happen to have some sort of meltdown, get injured, etc. I'd take Bradley and Wilkerson too. Furcal Wilkerson Lee ARam Bradley Murton Barrett Perez/Cedeno (Walker would be nice in that slot :x )

Randel "I never saw a pitch I didn't like" Simon. Man I loved him. He would swing at anything...and make contact. He was a guy Hendry traded for and he was a decent pinch hitter. I wish Hendry could figure out how to get a quality bench guy via the free agent route. Maybe we can coax Glenallen Hill out of retirement. Damn, but I miss him. Me too. I saw him play here in Syracuse when he was just starting out for the Jays. -
I just got chills thinking of seeing Delgado, Man Ram, Floyd, Beltran, etc. in a row. OK, the only reason for this post was to type "Man Ram" again. :) IMO Floyd will be a player, among others, that is dealt to the Red Sox to get Manny.

Maybe Riccardi is trying to get the Yanks to bid on Giles? If Toronto does sign Giles to this deal that would give them too many Of's and maybe Wells will be available.

I'm hoping that ND being invited fuels the fire for a playoff. How could this not anger the Presidents of schools like Oregon, UCLA and Auburn unless they are being bought off?

I know that college basketball polls don't mean anything but why isn't Bucknell rated? They beat Syracuse in Syracuse and have the same starting 5 from last year that beat Kansas in the NCAA's.

Wow, now that's what I call overpaying. Though I have no idea what Philadelphia would do with Walker. They could flip him for another need like the pen. Yeah, it is overpaying BbB and I see this as a window of oppurtunity to go for it and not get the Wilsons/Burnitz type players unless they are 4th OF's which I would love the Cubs to sign Burnitz to do if they could.

Do you think they (Padres) do this because SD is such a beautiful place to live and they can get players to lower their asking price? Are professional athletes are the only ones that can afford a house in the SD area? :D

Why not put Womack in CF? :D I wish the Cubs would talk to the Yanks about ARod. Yes, the real world eludes me.

That's a decent backup plan gooney but I want a dominate one and the Cubs have the money to do so IMO. SS - Furcal CF - Bradley (I would put Murton there but I doubt Baker would) 1B - Lee RF - Abreu/Dunn 3B - ARam LF - Murton C - Barrett 2B - Perez/Cedeno I would trade Walker, Greenburg, Williams, Pinto, Guzman and Harvey for Abreu and have the Phillies pay some of the contract.

I think that the Diamondbacks are such a nice match for the Cubs trade wise. I'm hoping that Hendry can pay the salaries of Vasquez or Gonzalez and get a young OF too.

I loved watching Sutters forkball/splitter drop at the plate. The pitchers I really enjoyed watching the most were Sutter and Blyleven because of their stuff had so much action.
