  1. Auburn #2? They lost a game. I was being sarcastic. The SEC is so good they might as well just have the top 2 teams play for he National Championship. it's not that good, but it's the best conference in college football. it's hard to argue otherwise. Why? Cuse, Auburn does not have a national championship team...I can vouch for that...but there are about 5 other SEC teams that are just as good as Auburn. They may not have the best team in the nation, but they are deeper than other conferences. I understand that they don't have strong extra-conference schedules this season. Let's revisit this in late December and early January. They also have 12 teams in their conference. If Louisville, WV and Rutgers were undefeated playing the exact same schedules but they played in the SEC they would be in the top 5. IMO, too many people give them (SEC) way too much of the benefit of doubt or credit and since they play the D2 schools they pump up their stats. If I have to hear how good Auburns D is after playing the Blind Nuns of St. Marys and the like I'm going to be sick, I mean really, who's D wouldn't look good after playing teams like that? I don't deny they are a talented conference and I think Arkansas is the best team in it, thus proving to me that the "proven" SEC teams get all the votes from the good ole boys. I guess it just bugs when when people just hand the SEC this award and the reward for doing what they do without proving it. Add to that the bottom 4 completely stink. We'll see in the bowls as you said and I look forward to it. Nah, the bottom 3 completely stink. Vandy is competitive. They just have a pretty brutal schedule. Speaking of which, so does SC. Their last 5 games are Tennessee, Arkansas, Florida, Tenn St., and Clemson. Ouch. If they pull off 2-3 in that batch, I'll be impressed. Vandy plays or played Michigan, Tenn St, Temple and Duke out of conference schedule. 1 very good team and 3 horrible ones. SCarolina has Wofford, Fla Atlantic, M.Tenn and as you said Clemson. This is the illusion of the SEC. If a BE teams teams like this out of schedule their ridiculed but it's ok for the SEC because it's so competitive. Top to bottom the best conference is the Big East, not the SEC. Their are no gimmes in the Big East.
  2. Auburn #2? They lost a game. I was being sarcastic. The SEC is so good they might as well just have the top 2 teams play for he National Championship. it's not that good, but it's the best conference in college football. it's hard to argue otherwise. Why? Because Auburn, Florida, LSU and Tennessee are all very good teams; Arkansas may be in that group, and South Carolina, Georgia and Alabama all have very good defenses and can be dangerous to any of the teams above. Even Vandy has won at Georgia and played Arkansas tough. Ole Miss has been pretty competitive too... only Mississippi State and Kentucky pretty much suck. Other conferences? ACC is way down this year; only Clemson and perhaps Ga Tech can be considered really good teams. UNC and Duke are atrocious, and NC St, Maryland, Virginia and hell even Miami are mediocre. The Big East has two top teams - WVU and Louisville. Pitt got hammered at home by Michigan State and is 6-1 because all the other teams they've played are crappy. Rutgers' best win is over Navy. USF is mediocre and Syracuse, UConn and Cincy are all pretty bad. I'll do the others later. I think it proves my point when all you talk about the SEC beating are the teams in its own conference. Also, the 4 "bad" Big East gave the upper eschelon of other conferences tough games while the SEC bottom teams got blown out by about every other big name conference so at least the BE bottom teams are competitive. Cincy gave Ohio State one of it's closest games of the year. And whether you know or not Rutgers is a really good team. I find it ironic when you say Clemson is a really good team and not Pitt. Have you looked at Clemsons schedule?

  6. If this really happened Tree I'd buy you a beer, many if you wish.
  7. The Police Academy Series, it just doesn't get any worse than that.
  8. Yeah that's the guy! Did he get any interest? No, but Stinky Moore got a second interview :D Jeff Smith will be proud!
  9. Yeah that's the guy! Did he get any interest?
  10. Well Auburn is blowing out a terrible Tulane team....looks like they should move to #2 now. Washington beating Cal makes the SEC not look so good now since that's their only big win out of conference.
  11. I wonder how many of those were line drive outs? He may have hit the ball ok but didn't have anything to show for it.
  12. Did anyone ever interview that White Sox minor league coach? I can't remember his name...Stinky Moore or something a little different.
  13. Would you take Pie for Crawford? IMO the Rays would be foolish to take anything less than Hill. Pie as part of a package. You mean Pie as the centerpiece, and a bunch of lesser prospects added in? If I ran the Rays I wouldn't take that. Crawford is an established MLB star, young, with a very attractive contract situation. I don't see why they would have to settle for anything less than Hill. Maybe, I can never figure out Tampa when it comes to trades.
  14. i was under the impression that you were much younger than thatYou mistook immaturity for youth. :D That does it, we're taking this outside.

  16. I'm still replaying the Cubs vs Baltimore in 69 in my head.
  17. Because they got killed at home against the other good team they faced. LSU has played multiple teams of that caliber, lost them both by close margins. Florida has beaten multiple teams of that caliber. Auburn beat two teams of that caliber. Who did Auburn or Florida beat of that caliber that wasn't in the SEC?
  18. Somebody please tell me why Arkansas is behind Auburn, Florida and LSU in the AP Poll? They dominate Auburn at Auburn and are way behind in the polls? They get punished for getting killed vs USC, please help me with this since the others played D2 teams and get rewarded.
  19. I don't think ARam is going anywhere, but obtaining ARod or Tejada is a step backward because ARam matches them in production and the Cubs don't have to give up players for him. What I wrote was if ARam is still on the Cubs they can trade for an ARod or Tejada to play SS instead of 3rd. But, to examine what you wrote wouldn't ARod at SS and a more productive player at 3rd be better than what the Cubs could get for SS and Ramirez? Let's say Ramirez and Lugo vs Arod and the best available 3rd baseman....which would be better? Don't forget if the Cubs do lose ARam they will have an extra 13 to spend, will there be quality around to use the money on....well that one's on Mr. Hendry and the market.
  20. I thought for sure you'd write "Joe Buck is the real James T. Kirk".
  21. It was a tough call by Randolph and turned out to be wrong. Floyd could have just as easily hit into a DP too. If he bunts, then who knows what happens. Did he have a good enough bunter to lay one down? If he puts Glavin in to PH and bunt what if he fails? With your 1 and 2 guys coming up with one out, maybe Willie didn't feel either was swinging well and decided to gamble on Floyd. You're right, the bunt was the percentage move in this case but I really can't fault him for doing what he did either.
  22. Ramirez should be priority #1 for Hendry and if this falls through, which I think it will, it's going to be a huge step back for the Cubs. Now, they have to trade players to get a guy to play third that they could have dealt for a Tejada/ARod type guy to play SS. IMO even if Hendry does everything right after losing Ramirez it'll only make the Cubs 10 to 15 games better which isn't near enough.
  23. If Hendry can get a couple of Pujols then I'm all for it.
  24. I'm just guesing but I don't think Floyd would have made that play.
