  1. I'm a Cub fan and I thought it was nice to see the Bears go to the Super Bowl since a lot of posters here like them. Go to the Super Bowl....not win it.
  2. While Bill and Laura smoke cigars? And after that we can have Nancy Reagan read about poem written by Ricky Williams about not doing drugs.
  3. It all depends on what he's trying to do. We have kids throwing right now and you can see the ones that don't have confidence in their stuff or fastball, sometimes very easily.
  4. George Bush and Hillary Clinton singing "Paradise by the Dashboard Lights".
  5. He's a former NFL running back or fullback, not sure exactly. He's been with ESPN for as long as I can remember, I believe since he retired sometime in the 90s. He sued the Bears for playing him when he was injured. Won a pretty good settlement. Anyway, it's no secret he doesn't like the Bears. He's a total Steelers homer, where he spent most of his career. I knew he was a Steelers homer, don't have to watch him much to see that. Didn't know about the Bear thing though, interesting. Thanks. I had no idea who he was.
  6. "Well....it's a little like a mop and a little like a puppet but oh boy. Does that answer your question?" One of my favorite Simpsons quotes ever. It actually goes. Dad, whats a muppet? Well, its a little like a mop, and a little like a puppet, but boy oh boy [chuckle] so to answer your question, I don't know. I actually thought it was, "well it's not quite a mop, and it's not quite a puppet..." You're right, that's how it went.
  7. Who is Merrel Hodge and why is he on ESPN?
  8. [sigh] sounds like the story of my life ! Fred you're all about class....keep that chin up!
  9. I think it's great that they are letting Tank Johnson be the longest focus of the whole day. If I hear "I'm a man" one more time I might actually believe him.
  10. Somebody asked Lovie...."Where were you when your team was selected for the Super Bowl?" I love it!
  11. "Well....it's a little like a mop and a little like a puppet but oh boy. Does that answer your question?"
  12. My mom, who is a pretty avid Bears fan, has to work on Sunday (as do a few of her fellow Bear-fan co-workers [lot of NU grads at her office]). That sucks. That stinks Raisin. I remember working during the Syracuse vs Indiana Championship game. Luckily, I got to see the last 2 minutes live. :(
  13. Are you sure because I think the Direct TV guy takes steroids to be able to climb on the roof of a house next store to put the dish up. He got up there way too easily without a ladder.
  14. I like that Texas/Texas A&M commercial.
  15. But EI does exist, and it's existed on cable for years. I really don't understand how you can't comprehend this. When Sunday Ticket started it was directv exclusive and it made sense that directv got to negotiate exclusive rights for the longterm. EI started with all sorts of outlets, and would be cutting back. Whenever you reduce consumer options that already exist, you are treading on dangerous waters. What's EI?
  16. You can not have Manning sitting back there and looking at 3 options. I'm sure Lovie is thinking of a way to disrupt this and I can't wait to see what it is.
  17. By the sounds of it, it's Texas or the highway. How has Sammy done Spring Training wise in his career? Well, back when he was good he would miss the first few days. I don't think he'll do the prima donna thing this time around.
  18. By the sounds of it, it's Texas or the highway. How has Sammy done Spring Training wise in his career? If the Rangers felt he needed a month or so to regain his timing, I could see if going on a tempoary assignment to the minors. I don't see him staying there past May 1. Maybe. I wonder if Sammy would be ok with that? Personally, I think Sosa would struggle in the minors.
  19. He'd be a better option. Throwing Pie out there would be a better option than Finley. Then Rickey? No way! I would be ok with Pie if he can show that he can make adjustments during the season once pitchers figure him out. It looks from his past he can so if he does this I have no problem with him in CF except for the Cubs would have too many OF's unless they trade Jones.
  20. "Rex! Rex! Joe from the Boston Globe. Why do you suck?" "Jim here from the Tampa Herald. Can you elaborate a little more about how you suck?" "Joe, San Francisco Chronical. Rex, can you tell us when and how much you will suck this Sunday?" "Frank - Dallas Morning News. Rex, you talked about going out to dinner with your wife last night. How has your sucking effected her?" I must've missed that part. Apparently two people that got ripped this year on American Idol are there covering Media Day. Warren Sapp is there as a correspondent as well. Here's a gem from Warren: "The great Reggie White once told me that I would rather have not shown up for the Super Bowl than to show up and lose" Joe Theisman said that too.
  21. Let's hope he gets a lot of kick off returns on Sunday! :D
  22. Sometimes you forget that these guys are just human and have some very intense feelings about being there. For some, they have worked many years of their life for this day.
