  1. I'm thrilled that K-State and Auburn actually played tough teams in their out of conference schedule and the fact they played each other was nice to see. Syracuse sucks and I'm glad they turned Brennon away when he wanted to come here before he went to Hawaii. Coach Robinson makes adjustments as well as the captain of the Titanic. Michigan better not be in the Top 25. Texas should drop. Nice wins for Cal, Georgia Tech (ND looked sloppy but I credit GT for that). I still hate it that Oklahoma and Nebraska don't play each other. Nice adjustments by Wisconsin in their win over WSU.
  2. I see that Hill can't hit, how was his defense?
  3. Is this a joke? Always.
  4. The Pirates tried him in the outfield in 2001. It was a disaster. Really? I don't remember that. I wonder if he really put his heart into it and wanted to stay being a catcher.
  5. Kendall is a decent athlete, isn't he? If the Cubs do want him for next year couldn't they let him try playing 2nd or the OF? Along with catching of course.
  6. Wow...one day of rest between games, that's pretty tough. Syracuse is playing your old coach today...Ty on Saturday. He's already worried about the wind in the Dome and how it'll effect the game. I kid you not.
  7. I think they will let the new owners decide Hendry's fate.
  8. There are a lot of Red Sox fans in the ESPN area and they will always get the main coverage along with the Yanks because of this. The people from that area are also very arrogant and think they are the most unique things in the world when they certainly are not. I would love to see this team lose 90 games a season 3 years in a row and then see how "supported" they would be.
  9. Yeah but he threw more innings than that last year. As a starter, with a set schedule and 4 days rest in between. It's not just innings, it's innings as a reliever. He's already got 40 AAA innings as a starter this year as well. He's thrown with 0 or 1 days rest 33 times this year. If he keeps up this pace and the Cubs make the playoffs, his total innings pitched this year will reach 115+. I would doubt there's another reliever on a playoff team that comes anywhere close to that number. Time to give Mike Marshall a call then. Let's hope some other relievers step up and Lou gets some confidence in them to ease Marmol's workload. What types of pitches does he throw?
  10. Plus, maybe they should have studied specific umps and their calls and not just the group as a whole.
  11. Those who race to first before the ball gets there after they hit a grounder are usually safe and those who don't beat the ball there are usually not. I think they just don't like slow guys. I'm pretty sure the umps are wrong 1% of the time too.
  12. What a big part of my baseball childhood he was, he'll be missed and when he said, "Hey White" you knew something interesting was coming. I really never liked the Yanks but I really enjoyed the Scooter and Bill White.
  13. When I wore just a thong to the game the only one that signed for me was Mark Grace and that was when he was in a huge slump.
  14. Gotta be Cedeno Not if they want a backup SS on the roster. Patterson is the most redundent. They have 4 others capable of playing 2B and many others capable of playing LF. Does EPatt play Short? Also you forgot about DeRo, he plays short and I doubt you need more than one backup. DeRosa is not really a shortstop. In a pinch he may be, over the long haul, no. I also remember many saying Theriot couldn't play SS either.
  15. Players like this HAVE to step up when the key players are hurt in order for a team like the Cubs to be competitive. Is there a stat that shows how well a hitter does when a key player is out with an injury? The Cubs have lost Lee, Ramirez and Soriano to the DL/suspension and still have stayed within striking distance of making the playoffs, that's a good sign IMO.
  16. What did he say/do? I am not sure it was an english response. More like morse code. I will give him the benefit of the doubt and hope he was just nervous. He is an extremely shy person and until this year you wouldn't even know even he talked. Boeheim has got him to be more assertive on the court and he finally has had the confidence to shot the ball without feeling like a selfish player.
  17. Hey thats my cousin, oh and your new uniforms well Nike's new uniforms suck. Get out! Mookie has to finish and I'm sure he'd agree with me!
  18. If Watkins could finish we'd be so much better.
  19. I'm fine with that. Someone should be planting a new bug in Hendry and Steinbrenner's ear everyday. Man I would love to see this lineup: Soriano Murt ARod Lee ARam Jones Barrett DeRosa Northside Murderer's Row. Heck you add Marquis and Z and you have 9 pretty good hitters!
  20. Missing 2 layups isn't going to help them.
  21. 55-50 Nova with 7 left.
  22. I doubt it. Jones is just as mediocre as Lieber, only he's not a pitcher so he's not going to be valued as much. Nobody is going to be giving up top prospects for Jones. I'd like to move Jones and a pitching prospect, if Pie proves he can play, for a SS prospect. I agree with BbB that it's nice to have some depth in the OF but the lack of talent at the SS postion in this organization really bugs me. I'd like to see the Cubs do that too, but from everything being said in the front office, they like Izturis. Yeah I know. Well let's hope that Lou and Perry can turn on a light for Mr. Izturis then and he can improve his hitting approach and numbers. Not only do they like Izturis, and have the opportunity to bring him back in 2008 at a price they probably like, but nobody is going to trade away decent SS prospects for Jacque Jones. Rawaction thinks he has a chance to have a huge year, and I would agree only because he's probably begun every year with the chance to have a huge year, given his talent. The problem is his physical talent has never translated into actual huge production, and given his age, probably never will. I'm suggesting Jones and a pitching prospect. The prospect depending on how good the SS prospect is.
  23. I'd love to see him handle all his chances today and prove he can be adaquate at worst.
