Votto GIDP with the tying run on third in the 9th. Reds drop 2 of 3 to Tigers. -
Even without fans in the stands, I like how the pitcher gets the "slight" humiliation with "Hit the Road Jack" as he departs in the 4th.

Not very often I like Heyward pounding a fastball into the ground at the 2nd baseman, but I'll take that one. At least he didn't K, and he got the run in.

In other news, Jake Cave with the 'slam in the first. Eloy bumps into the fence and goes down. Ends up staying in the game, but the guy seems a little fragile in the field/base paths in his short career. Twins 4-0, bottom of first.

Just purchased the MLB plan for the season. Hopefully I'll enjoy watching Cubs baseball this summer (and fall).

Family member was on the Chicago roster last summer for a bit. I moved out to Arizona by that time, so didn't get a chance to see any games.

Maybe not an "albatross", but definitely a problem for a small market team that chooses to stay under a certain overall team salary.

LoCain - second highest paid CF in baseball in 2021 and tenth highest paid OF (as of now). That contract was good in 2018, meh in 2019 a wash i n 2020, but probably an albatross for a small market team in 2021 and 2022.

As a Packers fan, I’m completely jealous of the Ravens’ draft so far.

So this ought to be the second season in a row the Packers 1st Round pick makes no impact during the season. Yay team.

Gonna take more than 1 rookie season for me to think Alonso is the top 1-3 in the NL. Long history a players having great rookie seasons followed by not-so-great careers.
