  1. Anyone think it would be a good idea to maybe flip flop Bryant and Rizzo in the lineup. Bryant, obviously off to a slow start stats-wise. But the OBP is dreadful. He's seeing a lot of pitches in some of his ABs, just not getting on. He might see more hittable pitches with the OBP machine on base ahead of him.
  2. I know it doesn't mean too much, but the few times I watched Cotton pitch, he was getting lit up. Lot of hard contact. Cubs are no worse without him.
  3. Bryant 3B Rizzo 1B Baez SS Schwarber LF Contreras C Happ CF Heyward RF Caratin DH Kipnis 2B Rea SP
  4. So I've been doing the "Cubs Game Thread" the past couple of seasons, and I've noticed I seem to often start a thread after a loss. Brewers go for two in a row with this guy starting: Or was it this guy: Cubs, meanwhile, will counter with this guy on the mound: I always seem to get a little anxiety when I start a game thread. For one, I don't want to be the reason the Cubs lose. And I feel like the thread start needs to be cutting edge, trendy or entertaining. How many of those little hearts can I get people to check? "YAY ME!!!! Somebody likes my thread start!!" The reality is, me starting a game thread has no bearing on the outcome of the games. And I really shouldn't give a rat's a$$ about you guys. I don't even know any of you save your dumb board monikers. Win you dumb basterds! Or not. You're on deck.
  5. Well it's not a Cubs Game, it's a FOX Game.
  6. Wondering if the slow start for Yelich this year is: A - Small sample size, and he’ll get better, much, much better B - Regression in his game, and his career has peaked C - Without distraction of fans in the stadium, “home cooking” just not the same
  7. Nice base running by Jorgeous Jorge. And who would’ve guessed he was in the Royals lineup for all 162 last year?
  8. Well then I've been "calling people out on strikes" pretty much my entire life!!

  10. I'll say it first: Nice job by the pen to secure the walk off.
  11. Gotta love the combo of Souza, Happ, 'bert and Bote to get a run, right?
  12. I'm out of market - any updates on when the game might restart? Radar looks like there's nothing in the area.
  13. His mechanics back there look a lot better than years past and he seems more “quiet” for a lack of a better term. But it’s such a small sample at this point who knows. And even for the “good” framers there’s year to year variance. Seems to be better this year, so far, but he seems awkward. Like he's swiping at the pitches. Doesn't seem overly smooth.
  14. That graphic regarding the DH AVG definitely is a small sample size. But the biggest part not mentioned by Len & JD is the production regarding HRs and RBI. Not gonna get anything close to that with a pitcher in the lineup.
  15. Hope he's still not trying to navigate that subway system. It can be a bear.
  16. Souza's gotta get Scwarbs to third. Not a good AB.
