  1. I really feel like the Dodgers were/are just clowning the NL, and their starting pitching is about to go dominant in the playoffs. And all their old vets will hit when necessary. And they'll end up in the WS pretty easily.
  2. That the other team will use a pitcher, and not a positional player, to face the Cubs lineup.
  3. Can someone clarify which team holds the tie-breaker between the Cubs and Padres. This article posted today (on MLB.com) states it's still undetermined: Link "Who holds the tiebreaker between the Cubs and Padres? Chicago and San Diego tied in their season series, 3-3, so the next tiebreaker would be intradivision record. In that category, San Diego (29-20 vs. NL West) would have the edge over the Cubs (27-22 vs. NL Central). If those records are even, Intraleague Play showing breaks the tie (the Cubs are 59-51, while the Padres are 67-44)." The Cubs currently have 89 wins and the Padres have 87. The only way the two teams can tie would be for the Padres to go 2-1 (with the Cubs going 0-4) or going 3-0 (with the Cubs going 1-3) in their remaining games. In both of these scenarios, it gives the Padres the better intradivision record. So there's no scenario where the Cubs could/would hold a tie-breaker, right?
  4. Sometimes doing nothing can be exceedingly exhausting: -waiting at the gate of a delayed flight; -waiting at the doctor's office; -sitting on a bus/in the car -facing below-average MLB pitching.
  5. That loss was brutal, in general, but especially after having a two score lead with less the 4 minutes to go. And then to still have a chance to win the game with, effectively, a chip shot by today’s standards (43 yards) only to have it blocked. Ugh! As much as I hate when they lose, maybe this will humble them a bit. Too much BS talk, especially from some of the players.
  6. I have a chronic illness called Cubs Fan. 😒
  7. I never suggested he was bad. I was merely referencing that the opponent's stats don't really matter because there have been plenty of dogshit pitchers that have stymied the order.
  8. Said absolutely nobody in the Cubs batting order.
  9. I agree mostly with what you're saying. I was actually making a joke (mostly) because it seems like it doesn't matter what sh!tty pitcher pitches, the Cubs offense struggles.
  10. Have you looked at the multitude of dogshit pitchers who have completely mystified Cubs hitters since July (and really before that)?
  11. I would like to agree with this but the Reds have a pitcher pitching.
  12. Earlier in the year, didn’t the Cubs struggle with the Reds starters only to crush their bullpen? Maybe that can be true tonight.
  13. I actually don't mind small ball/retro situational hitting. I'm pretty much over the "dong or K" mentality, although I'd imagine the MLB still prefers this.
  14. Where are you seeing this?? Head Coach says he day to day and already in the "return to play" process.
  15. I would imagine the Vikings offense improves with: -the return of Darrisaw; -the return of Addison; -additional game experience for McCarthy
  16. oh the irony of Santos putting the opening KO out of bounds.
  17. ^^not certain what you saw (or didn’t see actually) that makes you believe he was slightly above average. Week 1 first half he was 12/18 for 160+, 2 TDs and 0 INT. His passer rating was 128.6. He only threw 6 passes in second have because he didn’t need to pass. Packers dominated and run game did scoring. As an aside, Love was 8/9 for 128 and a TD between the numbers with a 155.8 passer rating, highest in the NFL. Week 2 he was 19/31 for 292, 2 TDs, 0 INT, and a passer rating of 113.9. Again , Packers jumped out quick in first half and mostly controlled the game. As an aside, Love was 14/17 for 178 and a TD outside the numbers with a 129.9 passer rating. 35/53 for 480, 4 TD, 0 INT and a passer rating of 120.0 thru 2 games (1 1/2) seems to be a little better than slightly average.
