    His name just showed up on the I-Cubs roster, so I think we have a winner. I assume he'll be replacing Nelson at 3rd? Simokaitis is listed on Iowa's roster as well. Replacing Rojas at SS? Nice. It's not like the I-Cubs need anymore help offensively lol. I'm assuming Craig will take over at 1B and let Kroeger go back to the OF. Moore is back to play 3B. How would you like to pitch to 1B Craig .931 2B Patterson .855 3B Moore .890 OF Pie 1.017 OF Murton .979 OF Kroeger .938 C Soto 1.017 And Craig's numbers are from the SL where OPS averages about .050 less than PCL

    Notice the words may and wondered, seems like he wasn't sure about moving him from short. Being a natural SS doesn't mean you have a good arm it means that's where you're most comfortable and used to playing. I only pulled one quote from the article. If you saw anything in there that indicated his college coach considered him a natural SS please point it out. I got the feel that the coach was saying he was a natural second baseman who played adequate (if unnerving) defense at short. I have no problem with Theriot's performance with the Cubs this year. If he can keep up the offense I think his defense is perfectly adequate. But in my mind a natural shortstop is one that doesn't make his manager or the fans (or a cup of coffee) nervous.

    Well, yes there are those types out there (Dunn, Griffey, Texeira), but it's kind of like my personal budget - if I want it I can't afford it and if I can afford it I don't want it.

    If I'm Daniels I hang up the phone right then. I've got teams willing to trade me the prospects I want without taking on their crap. you're forgetting that Daniels is not good at his job The difference is I think Daniels may be learning from his mistakes - a novel concept to be sure.

    Why would a new owner not want Z? If the team is more valuable with him and his new contract than it would be without him, what is the problem? Have the Cubs never considered the possibility that someone might say that their bid was contingent on keeping the existing core, and that if Z is gone their bid is now going to be lower?

    After last night Craig leads the SL in OPSat .940 (Of course that's because Josh Kroeger (1.048) has rolled off of the minimum qualifying PA's).

    If that's the only problem I think Craig could substitute for Hoffpauir easily enough in that group.

    I thought I heard an error on Craig also, but MiLB shows errors for Veal, McGehee and Chirinos. But regardless, it's been a sloppy game all around. From the broadcast it did sound like Donnie was having a good outing until the errors opened the floodgates.

    Yikes; I hadn't heard that. What happened? I went through the I-Cubs game notes back to July 4 and all they had was The I-Cubs roster shows him on the 7-day DL.
