  1. Can I replace a RP during the week or are RP treated like position players - cannot be changed unless an injury or demotion to the minors? Thanks

    Week 6

First time with the highest weekly score thanks to six strong pitching performances with the Liriano no hitter leading the way.
  3. I believe that technically checks are only good for 90 days, but I'm also under the impression that banks rarely enforce the limit. I always thought it was 180 days? Could be; I'm not positive. My main point was that I don't think banks enforce it whatever the limit is. I think it depends on the bank. I had a check that I did not cash for 6 months and the bank rejected it...
  4. I have been lucky the last two weeks with Liriano - I bench him last week and he produced -16 (or something like that but it did not help me win) and this week decided to play him because the Sox sucks and yahoo - a no-no...
  5. Since when is a $20 bill shiny...Brian I would be careful...:) Also, I thought personal checks have a shelf life of 3 months after signing so time is running out...
  6. Hafner removed from yesterday's lineup and undergoing MRI today so I picked up Damon to replace Hafner in the line up...
  7. Thanks, Tim...I did not realize it until after the line-ups were set...I am glad it did not impact the game against DJ...plus he did not start on Sunday...
  8. Agreed. This is getting a little ridiculous. It's been over 56 hours since a pick has been made. Anyone tried to contact Chuck?
  9. I want what Roady's having. Oatmeal and mac-n-cheese for breakfast...yum
  10. I plan to play Wiggington only as a 2B where he will be 3 for 4 with a HR, 4 rbis, 2 2B and 3 runs plus he steals home...
  11. Is the prospect draft snaking or not? I assume it is; I think it was last year. It wouldn't be fair otherwise. I don't remember how it was done last year but I agree that snaking is the fair way to go.
  12. Is the prospect draft snaking or not?
  13. Do we have to get rosters legal now or until the start of the season?
  14. It looks like you should be able to draft Randall Delgado.
  15. Thanks for looking at the Stauffer situation. I elect to leave him off my roster.
  16. Interesting. Might be part of the auto keeper drop process. I know some people were paring down their rosters before I set it up to mark the keepers. dont' need to drop anyone...the system will auto drop anyone not marked as keeper...
  17. If you think Pujols & Felix is worth Halladay, then it was a good pick. I can't keep Halladay so he is available.
  18. Brian: I will send my $9 this week. Rodelo
  19. Does anyone know of a website the shows the odds of winning/going to the playoffs for 2010? I don't think going into the year that the Rangers, Reds, or Giants were highly thought of.
  20. Getting Greinke probably would have required a few tweaks to increase the quality, but nothing so substantial as to completely overhaul the deal. What pisses me off is that I think this is also the kind of package that could have netted Adrian Gonzalez. Maybe the Padres wanted the Red Sox prospects, I don't know. But, when you compare that package to what the Cubs gave up, again, I think a minor change or two to the Cubs' prospects to increase the overall quality would have been comparable to what the Red Sox traded for Gonzalez. Also, why do people think the NL Central will be weak this year? As far as I can tell, the Reds, Cardinals, and Brewers will all roughly be the same as or better than last year, while the Pirates (yeah, yeah) should start seeing dividends from bolstering their farm system. I get the feeling that this will be a difficult division to win, even with a good team. I believe the new GM of the Padres came from the Red Sox and in my opinion was going to trade with the Red Sox only because of his familiarity with the players...I think this package is comparable but familiarity wins out in this case. In addition, I am not sure if the Cubs/Ricketts were willing to meet the numbers for Gonzo in the next couple of years with still the Soriano bloated contract in the books (I think Aramis comes off in 2012?).
  21. Nitpickey but wasn't Harris in the Nomar trade not the Aramis trade? Probably...while doing this on the fly, I actually did confused both trades...I had prospects from the Aramis trade going to the Twins and Montreal but corrected before posting...
  22. Looking back at trades (Cubs trading an establised major leaguer for prospects) I recall over the years by the Cubs and trying to recall all the reactions on NSBB regarding the trade and the prospects given up, it seems that this trade is not a win for the Cubs (looking at the success of the prospects traded post trade) - not scientific but just based on reading/recalling the reactions. Even though most people on NSBB (in fact, most fans) overvalues the prospects, it seems the concensus (if put together) gives a fairly good indicator of the prospects traded. For example 1) the trade for Pierre was lambasted because of the prospects traded and looking at the trade today, it was a definite loss for the Cubs. 2) the trade for Aramis was praised and the prospects in the deal were overall busts (I guess you could argue a bit on Brendan Harris since he played well last year) 3) the trade for Lee was praised and Choi was never the same or performed to his expected prospect standing 4) the trade for Harden was praised and none of the prospects panned out 5) the trade for Nomar was highly praised and none of the prospects to Montreal and the Twins were non-issues 6) the trade for Clement/six finger bust closer was middle of the ground but none of the prospects did much (except for Willis but success was short-lived) I can't think of any other big or minor deals at the moment (I am sure there are others) - trading for a veteran/established player for prospects that has bit the Cubs in the arse. Please feel free to add.
