  1. I hope not, that's my favorite part of the show.
  2. I hope Bill Murray would have more class than to participate in a stupid stunt; the other two hacks, would jump at the chance. What? Is this the NoFunLeague? I think it's funny and should be some good press. Good press, did ESPN forget to talk about the Yankees for an hour, so they needed an attention grabbing stunt. I wouldn't classify it as funny, sort of an "oh, that's so cute" moment instead. But hey, if that's your thing, laugh away. So it would be good press if it weren't the Yankees? I meant it would be good for baseball as a whole. Do you feel the same way about Pro/Ams on the PGA. I don't even like watching golf, but sometimes the highlights of the Comedians are funny. I don't see where this stunt benefits baseball. what Soul said in his post hits the nail on the head.

  5. He lost that status when he switched to the Pale Hose during their World Series run.
  6. It should never get to this point. The Cubs organization failed with Mark Prior which means they failed the fans. They have an obligation to get the best out of their players, make sure they're healthy and especially don't let the great ones go. I've seen it too much in my 40 years as a fan. Don't give me that crap that it was time for Prior to leave or he was just in it for the money. He saw first hand the ineptitude of the Cubs organization and wanted to get out of here. Who could blame him? To me, there may have been worse GMs than Hendry but he has been the biggest failure. The talent was there to at least win the World Series once during his tenure and he couldn't even get this team there. I hate this organization.
  7. He said best announcer, not color man. Harry & Brick, in their own ways, were very good at what they did. As for color guys, Stoney was good, probably the best since Lou Boudreau in the early to mid 70s with Brickhouse; which is not saying much since Joe Carter also filled in that role.
  8. Chris Singleton is going to ESPN's Baseball Tonight? Just when you thought they couldn't get any dumber in Bristol.
  9. Dude don't you know anything about baseball. CFs hit leadoff unless there is a skinny, fast, black dude at another position (very rare). Gotta have a guy that can handle the bat (i.e. sac bunt, hit and run, makes productive outs) batting 2nd. Gotta give that fast dude a chance to run. Corner OF and IF are the 3-6 spots, and mostly interchangeable. C is 7th. SS is 8th. These are both defense-first positions, so the offense you get from them is a bonus. Defense wins championships and you gotta be strong up the middle. Second baseman bats second, dude.
  10. Why can't you just over-react like everyone else? Nobody is overreacting. Everyone is just joking around. Unclench. As opposed to my reply? How can you tell? No one used a smilie.

  12. Why? Is TJ surgery contagious?
  13. http://wgnradio.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=blogcategory&id=120&Itemid=236 That's what he meant to say.
  14. Whether it's ESPN TV, the Magazine or dot com; I don't bother with any of their crap anymore.
  15. Very descriptive blogger with a lot of information versus this post with two sentences. Unless you have anything to back up your claim, I'm gonna go ahead and continue to assume that it's true. Some of the people on BCB are claiming that the modus operandi @ HJE is to "make things up." The people at BCB tend to assume the worst of any site about the Cubs that isn't BCB. I refuse to take stock in anything printed from a guy who goes to ballgames with bologna sandwiches wrapped in wax paper.
  16. It's a blog/web site started by a few of the guys from Desipio. Whats it stand for/what is the web address? I don't know the address and can't remember what SSM stands for (Desipio is down). I just remember reading about it on the message boards there.

  18. You were warned at the top, SSBilly. What's the big deal? JH knew it was mostly an off-the-record discussion and he opened up like a normal guy would talk.
  19. Well, now it's gotta be official. He can't play for the O's in a Cub uniform. Looks like he's going to be making an appearance on South Park in the near future.
  20. Are you referring to the Mike Ditka that has a Super Bowl ring? The same one whose ego prevented a 3-4 year dynasty, yes. Yep, the same Ditka who, despite growing up in a steel town, sides with management over players in the '87 strike thereby losing his players and sealing the end of the dynasty that never was. Ditka is dead to me.
  21. I agree that's more of a slap at Cub fans. Who, in their right mind, would want to stand outside in the middle of January anyway?
  22. That he did. Didn't make a move without talking to McD. He reported to McD for his entire Cubs career. Not understanding making Blunk head of Business Operations as he has been a marketing type his entire career. Now Hawks have two guys who know little about the business side of running a franchise. Pretty scary stuff. He won't have anything interesting to say as it will all be in marketing speak. Just watch your back on that event and not a word of what I have told you here to McD. Not sure if any of you saw how he pretty much dissed Woody, Prior and Cubs fans in a quote mid last month at an autograph signing the Hawks had downtown. Who, Blunk or McDonough? What did he say?
  23. Cedeno's got the potential to be a good fielder, but Hu is already GG calibur. With both, you get the chance they hit for something, and if they don't you atleast get premium defense at the position with Hu. Just what we need, another Dodger SS who drives in runs with his glove.
