  1. I can think of a lot of places to go drink with a far less cover charge than Wrigley.
  2. Ozzie comes in second to Lou again, HA!
  3. It's been time for that since 2005 or 06.
  4. Yes, he's playing to his fan base and it's what they believe.
  5. That's OK...describing him as a small-minded human being is the nicest thing I can say about him, I really think he's a POS.
  6. A mediocre player, a terrible manager who got lucky one year and a small-minded human being - the perfect leader for that sewer of a franchise on the south side.
  7. The Bonds treatment as in how big his body has gotten the last few years and how quickly he bounces back from injury? I say Yes.
  8. Screw that AARP-eligible, steroid user.
  9. My comment is not coming from the recent losing streak - the losing streak is a case of the chickens coming home to roost. Hendry signed a worthless Aaron Miles, traded for Gregg and Heilman - none of those guys are an upgrade over the players they replaced. I'm not going to get sentimental and wish for Kerry Wood or DeRosa to be back with the Cubs but it is obvious that Hendry made the wrong moves. As Hawk4Hall pointed out, now that the injuries have hit the team, the weak bench has exposed this team. Hendry is good at tossing around money and making a big trade here and there but constructing a balanced major league roster has never been his strong suit. I would hate to see where this team would be if the Tribune never had to put the Cubs up for sale and decided to spend the next owner's money. Putting together a competent roster is the GMs responsibility and Hendry has failed Lou in that respect.
  10. I agree 100% with you - the blame for this season belongs on Hendry.
  11. Pujols has never been young.
  12. I don't really have a "preferred" method. Satan could be signed by the Cubs and lead us to a World Series title and I'd cry tears of joy. I don't want AJ Eyechart anywhere near this team.
  13. Are you a candidate for Lasik surgery if you wear bifocals? (yeah, I'm old)
  14. Good work, if you can get it.
  15. I think it's pretty cool to be a Cubs fan also. Sometimes it's so maddening watching this team and the moves, or lack of, made by the inept front offices throughout the year. I couldn't think of another team to root for though, being able to watch baseball the way it was meant to be played, with 9 players hitting and fielding, during the day, with the stands packed with knowledgeable fans, and a nice collection of good-looking women to distract you from the action on the field. The best part...we're not White Sox fans.
  16. Calm down, it was just a sarcastic remark.
  17. No. I think his name is Jim Anixler. I like that Ricketts is a fan, I'm sure he would put money into the team, but I worry that he is a dumb fan. Dumb Cubs fans have some awful ideas about what this team needs. He seems like the best option at this point anyway. Sometimes I think we're all dumb for being Cub fans.
  18. You will be missed, Hank White. http://www.desipio.com/images/blanco_henry.JPG
  19. I just hope he never starts Game 1 of a playoff series again.
  20. Apparently Axelrod has never seen the Chicago City Council in action.
  21. This is completely and utterly ridiculous. What's so ridiculous about that statement? It's on the mark, besides a couple of good trades, overall his handling of free agency has been terrible. The farm system has not produced a quality position player in years. Despite the 2 division titles, he's left this team in a precarious position with the ridiculous deals to Soriano, Fukudome, Zambrano, etc.
  22. But we loyal fans do. I'd rather see the Cubs win it under new ownership than the Tribune. Although, the new owners will probably keep Hendry around since the morans at the Trib gave him a 4 year deal.
  23. This organization doesn't deserve to reap the benefits of the Cubs winning the World Series someday. F*** Jim Hendry.
