  1. This is true, but who has the speed to match up with them? The Big XII's overrated trio = not so much. Ohio State? Not after last season's NC. WVU? They could put points on the board against LSU, not so sure they can stop them. Honestly, there are pretty much 2 universities that have enough speed to match up against LSU: USC and Florida. Those schools have the best chance to knock off LSU. Unfortunately, neither of the teams have a realistic scenario of facing them. Of the teams with a legitimate chance of facing LSU, WVU probably matches up the best, though I think LSU would score pretty easily on them. LSU isn't invincible, but I don't think the 1 loss teams match up that well against them. Their only loss in the best conference was a flukish triple overtime loss on the road to Kentucky. Id like to know what last years Ohio States team has to do with this years?
  2. Lol I have never said anything close to the stuff you spew out. Give me a break.
  3. alabama lost to UL-Monroe and tennessee barely beat vandy at home... looks like the sec sucks sweet fake FG by that tricky JoePa... PSU up 24-7 over moo FLorida rules blah blah blah blah, Lil ten sucks blah blah blah Tim Tebow blah blah blah, bunch of numbers I made up, blah blah blah. Mature response. Coming from you? HA

  5. Your hatred of the Big Ten is comical. Tell me how we learned that this week?
  6. Juice with 132 yards rushing and 220 yards passing. Not a bad day at all. The Illini have almost 500 yards of offense going into the 4th quarter.
  7. LOL ILL-
  8. How is he not good for his clients? He does his job, and gets them the most money.
  9. Just got home anybody care to tell me how U of I scored?
  10. that's fantastic news! now that i know the cubs have more guys (that's plural!) that will be in the top 10 in the NL in whip, k/9, h/9, k's, k/bb, i feel much better about the team's future. No kidding, if the Cubs have more Marmols and Hills coming, then they should trade them for Cabrera, and keep the real Marmol and Hill.
  11. JP sucked for alot more than just 2 months.
  12. The Cubs don't have what it takes to get an elite player, only a good player. And why not target a good player coming into his 27-year season? Because you dont give up 2 of your best pitchers on the team, for only a good player. If you are going to use Marmol and HIll together, then look for an elite player, not just a good one.
  13. Semantics. How about former prospect, or young talent? For me it comes down to this: the Cubs don't have anyone like Crawford coming in the system. The Cubs have plenty of pitching to try out in the system. This thread shows why the argument that Hendry never sells high is bunk. Anytime the Cubs have a player worth selling high on, the board freaks out. The Cubs have plenty of pitchers in the system, but none of them project to be as good as Rich Hill. When has Hendry ever sold high on a Cubs player or prospect?
  14. One year, $18 million "make good" deal and hit the market again next season? That would be a good deal if he'd take it. he wouldn't. if he's considering signing in Washington (which i've read) then he's clearly in it for the big contract I thought that was Hunter who was considering Washington because of his close friendship with Young?
  15. Completely agree, and was basically what my point was last page.
  16. I wasn't that happy giving up Rapada, mainly cause I wanted him as an extra LOOGY in September, but I don't think he really has a great future. Trading Monroe was the right thing to do, he's gonna make too much money and has no place on the team. It's trade or it's non-tender. Right, as I said Rapada could be a decent bullpen arm. My problem was Hendry trading for Monroe in the first place, giving up a possible decent bullpen arm for somebody who wasnt needed. Now Hendry trades Monrow for a PTBNL, which will more than likely be cash, or a very low class A player. So essentially all Hendry did was give Rapada away for nothing.
  17. So you'd prefer disgruntled Jacque at 5M on the bench rather than Infante at 2M on the bench? Why? Because disgruntled Jones at least provides a little bit of offense to a team that is in DIRE need of offense. And I really don't care about whether someone is disgruntled or not. It's not like Jones can just go out there and try to suck, because his next contract with a big league team will be dependent on how he performs in his contract year. Is that little bit of offense really worth an extra three million that could be spent elsewhere though? Also, although in a somewhat limited sample size, Jacque has sucked coming off the bench in his career. When its Hendry spending that extra 3 million elsewhere, that little bit of offense is probably worth it.
  18. Player A- .280 .329 .455 OPS .783 for his career Player B- .271 .324 .469 OPS .793 for his career One of these guys just got traded for a utility man, while the other is going to get at least a 5 yr 75 million dollar contract as a free agent. Please tell me why anybody, would want Torii Hunter.
  19. Another deal that Hendry made for no reason at all, while giving up a possible decent bullpen arm to get, and now Hendry gets a PTBNL back. Boy, Hendry you sure are a genius.
  20. But if they were to change that rule, Prior would be a perfect candidate....
  21. Well the good thing if that is true, is at least Hendry is trying to maximize Marmols value, although it would be nice to see him used to get a "superstar", and not just a good player. I really cant wait for the day Hendry is done.
  22. I dont know if this has been posted in here yet, but Jones was on the Score yesterday, and he basically demanded a trade. Hendry and him sat down at the end of the year, and Hendry told him they would like him back if he would accept a bench role, because the plan is for Pie to start in CF, and acquire a new RF. Jones said that he came to Chicago to play, and not sit on the bench, so he asked Hendry to trade him.
  23. Why would the Cubs pay any part of it? They didn't have to pay Monroe in the first place if they didn't want to. Cause Hendry is just that damn nice/dumb?
  24. wth? Not to question your reputability but I would take any rumor of a trade involving a bad player who isn't even under the Cubs control over a good player with a grain of salt No prob, just repeating what I heard on the update at 11am from wmvp Where the hell is it 11 am?
