  1. If by superstar you mean 30 points etc no he wont be. Deng can and will average 20-25 points 5-7 boards which is pretty damn good. You put Kobe on this team with Deng, and I think the 2 of them would work beautifully together. Dengs ability to slash to the basket would finally be used how it should.
  2. At least you guys aren't in as bad a position as the Pacers. Man, that team is so freaking screwed for many years to come. I think they're the definition of NBA limbo, except they have a shot at being bad enough to get a good pick. And yet, the Pacers are 3-0.
  3. Has there really been that many who have said they were? I know alot of Bulls fans, like myself, thought they could get to the Easter Conference finals with their core group. I dont think many people would say they were championship caliber when talking about the NBA title, but I believed they could win the East(before this year when the East was pretty weak). Coming into this year however, I felt things needed to be shaken up a little, since the East got stronger over the off season.
  4. Illinois looked like a defensive juggernaut last night. Even without Shaun Pruitt till the 2nd half the Illini only gave up 39 points total.
  5. Id take on Kwame Brown, if it meant the Lakers take Ben Wallace. Seriously, Im tired of hearing about him being hurt. If hes hurt then get his ass off the floor, as hes doing nothing to help us win games. Going into last nights game, Ben Gordon had 20 defensive rebounds thru 3 games compared to 3 for Ben Wallace. Yes you read that right, Ben Wallace had 3 damn defensive rebounds in 3 games, what a joke. Also, somebody needs to tell Ben Gordon the season has started as well. And why in the hell did Noc only play 10 mins last night? Seriously Skiles wake the hell up, and start playing your best players, and stop putting dumbass lineups out there. The one decent thing that came of last nights games, was at least Hinrich looked like an NBA player again, although his shooting and shot selection still suck.
  6. Hendry has pissed away alot more money on alot worse players. So? That makes it okay to piss away more money? Just cause he's screwed up in the past doesn't mean it's okay for him to screw up again. Im saying that spending a few million on a guy with Priors upside isnt really pissing money away, when you have pissed away money on players with no upside before.

  8. I didnt say I wouldnt go there, but we either need to stop all Bulls discussion here, and direct everything there, or just say the hell with Second City Hoops, and just do what we have always done.
  9. I was actually going to suggest the opposite, that those of us posting in this thread participate in a moratorium to encourage people to use Secondcityhoops. That way there will at least be some discussion on there so when I (or others, for that matter) direct outsiders there for some good chat, there will be some good chat. Hey Id be all for that, but right now its dead there. Hell the last game thread had like 4 posts lol. I just remember last years thread, and there was alot of talk in there before, during, and after games. I agree. I liked the idea of a site for the Bulls, but for now, I think we should keep the discussion here. It's different with the Bears because they had such a following on here last year. Game threads approached 20 pages a week when the Bears played. There were some Bulls games last year where there were only about 2-3 posts during a game. And that was fine because we had a whole thread dedicated to the Bulls season. I'd be on 2nd City Hoops, but it's just completely dead there...for now. And Bucher just said that the Lakers hot start isn't really keeping Kobe happy in LA. Good news, good news. Its going to be interesting if the Bulls lose tonight, to see if the fans start the Kobe chant again. Apparently some players didnt take too kindly to that, but oh well they look like they have half assed it in every game this year. Noah is back tonight, and Skiles has said he will probably take minutes away from Wallace if his injury is still bothering him. To put this season in perspective so far...Ben Gordon has 20 defensive rebounds on the season compared to Wallace's 3.
  10. According to reports I read over the years, the Cubs recommended surgery on a couple of occasions. Prior was the one who chose to try to go the non-surgical route in hopes of getting back faster. I dont remember that at all. And even so, thats fine after the first 6 months go by, but after that the Cubs could have, and should have said surgery time, no more wasting time. The Cubs don't have the right to say that. They can't force the player to have surgery. If they want to cut him because he refuses to have surgery, that's their right, but a club cannot do more than recommend that a player goes under the knife. Should the Cubs have told Prior that he was either going to have surgery or they were releasing him? IMO, no. That would have been way too drastic, and there would be some legal issues I think even with a threat like that. Well they stuck with what they were doing way too long. Rehab, towel drill, rehab, simulated game, towel drill, rehab, etc. etc etc. At some point before 2 years, you need to do something different.
  11. if that team (in it's prime) had faced a team with a 6'6" receiver who ran a 4.3/40 they would poop their pants Ummm, huh? :D wow, FTH happened? I posted that in the Shula thread Riiight, sure you did Derwood, sure.

  14. This is off topic, but I really hate the lack of Bulls discussion. Nobody is posting at 2ndcityhoops, and discussion here is nowhere near where it was last year when we had the Chicago Bulls thread. I really think we should keep Bulls talk here, but thats my opinion.

  16. Wrigley was shaking when that went out. I lost my voice for 2 days because of that game.
  17. I have to believe that Prior is a big boy and is responsible for his own body. Now, if the Cubs said..."No, you can't get an MRI or see a Dr. about your shoulder" you may have a point but I doubt that is the case. From what I've read about Prior he seems to be pretty conscience about his body and I can't see him just accepting this type of injury. He is the Cubs property, and under contract of the Chicago Cubs. If they tell him to get an MRI, or get surgery, then thats what he has to do. I truly believe the Cubs, and Hendry, didnt believe anything major was wrong with him, and that has been hinted in reports throughout this entire Prior saga.
  18. Whats funny is Hendry and the Cubs staff put themselves in this situation. They waited what, 2 years, before actually going all out on trying to find out what was wrong with Prior? I think its amazing that he kept saying he was hurt, you could tell he was hurt, but the Cubs wait till middle of last year to get an MRI, and find out what exactly was wrong with Mark. If they would have went in and done the exploratory surgery say 6 months after the 1st time Prior said he was hurting Hendry and the Cubs wouldnt be in this situation. Instead they acted like Prior wasnt really hurt, kept rehabbing him, instead of finding out what was actually wrong.
  19. Hendry has invested alot more money, and time in alot worse players to even justify using that sentence.
  20. Stupid. Yea Jim would rather invest in crap like Jason Marquis, Neifi Perez, Steve freaking Trachsel, etc etc etc.. then a guy with talent. The sooner Hendrys ass leaves Chicago the better.
  21. So now Pie is a guy who needs platooned? Come on, how is a kid supposed to learn to hit lefties, when he never faces them? Let Felix play, and lets see if he makes his normal adjustments like he has at every level so far. he hit 190/254/547 in AAA against lefties last year in Iowa and that's not even bringing up his struggles at the majors vs. lefties in 2006 256/322/649 in Iowa in 2005 he hit 253/295/743 in West Tenn If the cubs were not contenders I would be okay with him learning on the job. However, they are not and you can't have a guy in the lineup who hasn't shown he can at least hit somewhat marginally vs. southpaws. You do realize that hitting .253 and .256 would mean he can hit them somewhat marginally, right?

  23. :D awesome. I mean seriously this board is made up predominately of IU and UI fans, since we are in the midwest. The 2 schools are rivals, there is going to be alot of discussion/arguments amongst the 2 fan bases. Maybe we should have an IU and UI thread only so you others dont have to "suffer" reading about 2 of the bigger fanbases of this board. i have no problem with "discussion" between UofI/IU fans. just stop being such bitches about everything Who the hell was being a bitch? I posted the missed dunk of Gordon as a joke. Everything else has been civilized. Hell the discussion between Raw and I was civilized. See Pages 1-54 So you bring up a completely different thread? Are you serious? Nobody in this thread regarding IU and U of I has been a bitch except 1 person, and hes not even a fan of the 2 teams in question.
