The difference between ARod at $16-20m and ARod at $30m (not sure where you're getting $35-40m from) is $10-14m. Or, if you prefer, Jared Wright or Carl Pavano. That amount of payroll is nothing for your team. If you let ARod go, you're weakening your offense, so you're creating another hole to fill. I'm assuming he means that the contract would be back-loaded so while the average would be $30M a year, the last few years would be more than that. Not only the backloading, but everyone is missing one thing. BorA$$ wanted 350 million to bring A-Rod to the table and BEGIN negotiations! Plus lets say the Yankees give him 35 a year, stright thru the contract. The Yanks are over the tax threshold! That means you add 40-50% tax to that. So It is like paying him 49-52.5 per year! Wow, all I have to say, is Zook coached a hell of a game. I hope this shuts some people up about his coaching abilities. He made the right call on 4th downs, and basically had a great game. I also am now backing off my stance of removing Juice. He grew up today, and like Zook said, hes only a sophomore. Screw you Ohio St. you showed at the end of the game again why most of the nation hates you, your school is a bunch of classless pricks.
