Its amazing how many times I have read that LSU would blow out (you put the name of a team here) in a National Title game. I havent seen evidence of LSU being great since the Va Tech game early in the season. Va Tech was not playing well then either. LSU's hype is based mostly on some people insisting that the SEC is in a different league than other conferences. I think they may be the best overall conference, but not so much better that their teams deserve the huge breaks in the polls that their teams are getting. I've been wondering the same thing myself. I see no evidence -- save the Va Tech game forever ago -- that LSU would blow out any decent team. LSU is good, but there is no reason to believe they'd blow out any upper level bowl team. BUT THEY ARE IN THE SEC!

So he can go 17-10 with a 4.00 ERA? No thanks. Not a chance in hell that would happen. I counter that with the numerous scrap heap acquisitions they've had who have given them a season or two of randomly good to awesome production. Rusch is exactly along those lines. Yea Kip Wells and Mike Maroth looked fantastic for them this year.

Only a 13 point win? That seems like a pretty close game for them considering they were playing ISU. It's hard to say. Projections have Illinois State anywhere between third and seventh in the tough Missouri Valley. This is one that probably can't be accurately judged until much later in the season when we see how good Illinois State really is, but all the buzz is that they are supposed to be much better than normal. I knew ISU was supposed to be decent, but figured a talented IU could at least win by 20. Where was everybody else on offense for IU? Gordon scoring almost their points is nice and all, but not really something you want to see happen often, right?

A win in overtime against a horrible team is good for this team. When WIU gives you a game you arent very good.

So with the LSU loss and Ohio State possible playing for the the title, does that push the Illini into the Rose Bowl?

He bumped knees with another player, its no big deal. He could have played in the 2nd half, but wasnt needed. Hes fine.

Let's wait until the winter is over before naming the worst GM in Chicago. Personally, I think KW will prove his claim to the title by spring. If Hendry signs Matsui to the 3 year deal like is being speculated, he will leap back in front of KW. At least bullpen is an actual need for the White Sox, whereas 2nd base is really nowhere on the list of Cubs problems, but yet our GM is looking for one. -

Was Henderson one of the refs? He was the one that put up 23 points on you guys. Oh couldnt really notice with all the free throws being shot, and fouls being called. It was a weird game last night, and maybe rules are different in Hawaii but I could have sworn college basketball was 5 on 5, but apparently not. We ended up with 3 players with 4 fouls and one that fouled out, too. Instead of blaming the game on the refs blame it on your 32% shooting or Duke's 56% shooting. If you think the refs had no effect on that game then I dont know what to say. The refs took Pruitt and Randell out of the game, who Duke couldnt handle at all. Im not blaming the loss on the refs, but the calls Duke gets is beyond absurd, its downright pathetic.

Ok screw it just tank the rest of the season. Get a hopefully top 5 pick with the possible freshman coming out its going to be a great draft. Rose, Love, Beasely, Gordon, Mayo, etc.... Sign Kobe since he will be a free agent, and then trade Gordon for something. This team sucks and its pointless to hope for barely making the playoffs. Signing Kobe as a FA really isn't plausible because he isn't a FA until next offseason. And even then, the Bulls won't have the cap room to sign him without trading some of the current players on the team. I'd love to tank because this team isn't going anywhere this year besides another 1 and out in the playoffs. But we all know that won't happen. Ahh yea its only if kobes traded he can become a free agent right?
