  1. Tom Glavine, Bronson Arroyo, and Dontrelle Willis thank you for throwing them out of the league :D Seriously though, it is a problem. Marquis can maintain being a league average pitcher and stay ok, but he's certainly not earning himself any points with Piniella. I don't think he's on thin ice as long as he remains that way (unless he starts losing his control or having really short outings), but knowing Piniella, he could slide there pretty quickly. So far, he's done exactly what they signed him to do though. Put up league average production, and take the ball every time out. You just always have the feeling with Marquis though that the cliff is one or two starts away, even though he hasn't fallen so far. I think that's why he's so frustrating. You just never know what to expect out of him from game to game or even inning to inning. He was above average for 2 months last year and was below average for 3 months. Average for 1 month.
  2. When Cesar Ituris has a .412 ave and an OPS over 1.000, you shouldnt be a starting pitcher in the major leagues.
  3. I meant 1 batter CCP but my point still remains, they had him warm up, and didnt even bring him in. Whats the point? What changed that Lou wanted him up and then didnt bring him in?Nothing.
  4. Lou Piniella makes me sick. LOL. Guy brings winning baseball back to Chicago, and that isn't enough? His team won the division last year barely. So far this year he is over managing and mismanaging at a Dusty Baker pace. You can be happy winning divisions, I want championships, and he hasnt done that.
  5. The battle of trash pitchers, lets see whos trash is better!
  6. Lou Piniella makes me sick.
  7. 25 pitches isn't bad, but when he threw 25 of them for no damn reason, and all the warmup pitches between innings, yes it could hurt him. FYP. I don't mind him getting 1 inning today, since he was the only guy that didn't throw yesterday. Those arms are valuable too, regardless of being lesser than Marmol. But you don't throw Marmol in the 9th. Put Marshall in, and you have all pitchers are your disposal tomorrow night. Marmol now may not be able to go tomorrow. But I'd imagine Lou would throw him in there, because it's a night game tomorrow. He wouldn't have to pitch til likely after 9PM CST, which gives him over 24 hours off. No reason Marshall couldnt go 2 innings today after throwing 1 pitch yesterday. But Lou needs his Loogy.
  8. Well he was tired from those pitches he threw in the 19-5 game.
  9. In all honesty, there is no reason as of right now, that Soto isnt the starting catcher for the NL All Stars.
  10. Oh dont worry Sean will get used after about 6-7 days off and then struggle and everybody will say hes a AAAA pitcher, and get sent back down.
  11. 25 pitches isn't bad, but when he threw 13 of them for no damn reason, and all the warmup pitches between innings, yes it could hurt him. Lets not forget the pitches he threw in the 19-5 game. You use Marmol when you have to not when you have big leads.
  12. I can understand why they don't use Gallagher. They need him to be fresh in case Marquis completely implodes tomorrow, and Gallagher is the only one in the bullpen (currently) that can throw 3+ innings if needed (I don't think Marshall can right now after a couple weeks of bullpen work). Marmol for 2 innings though? Simply inexcusable. It should have been Wuertz and Marshall to finish it out. Now, I don't think it's a decision that will have much long-term impact. Maybe the Cubs miss him tomorrow, maybe they don't. It's still a bad decision though. No reason for Marshall to get up today and then not come in. Completely unexcusable to use Marmol for 2 innings. Lou needs to get his loogy lovefest out of his head. Marshall can pitch more to more than 1 left handed hitter.
  13. This is it now. Its either this or I start a Fire Lou bandwagon.
  14. Ok thats it Im done. Fire Lou. WTF. Marmol throws 2 innings in a 9-3 game? So now he wont be used tomorrow night probably. Seriously Lou is a joke.
  15. Ok Marmol just hit, if he toes the rubber in the 9th Lou needs smacked.
  16. This is not that hard, Piniella. Find some garbage down in AAA, give him a roster spot. Anytime the game is not within five runs, throw him out there. Abuse him arm in this manner until it falls off, then replace him with another garbage AAA guy. It's called "mop-up duty," and it's been around longer than you have. Lous a Hall of Fame manager you better not question him, or he may snap at you like he did the reporter for questioning him the other day.
  17. Ok now lets bring Marshall in because Im sure he cant pitch 2 innings since hes a loogy.
  18. HAHAHAHAHA first we use Marmol in a 19-5 game this week, and that is reasoning why we let Fox go 2 innings Fri night. Now we use him in a 9-3 game, when we could use Gallagher, or maybe even Marshall since he threw 1 freaking pitch last night. Oh wait Marshall can only face lefties. Im thinking this thread may need stickied cause theres going to be alot more to add here Im afraid.
  19. Hell Lou used him in a 19-5 game why not in a 9-3 game. Lous a moron.
  20. Stupid stupid stupid. Why use Marmol? Use Gallagher Lou, my God.
  21. Somebody please tell me Marmol isnt the one warming up?
  22. Good job Lilly you gave us exactly what we needed. Now let Gallagher finish it out and lets try and win this series tomorrow night.
