    4-5 guys who make the postseason roster. Maybe 2 who start game 1? All three backup catchers in the starting lineup! Love day-after-clinch day. Would love to eliminate cards with that lineup.

    my NBC sports app cut out in the middle of this interview. I missed the bit at the end but was thinking the same thing. I just rewatched it in its entirety and this is so damn funny. he never breaks character. it's almost as funny as the time he complained about maddon taking starting pitchers out early after he got ejected from the game. Solution: Take starting pitchers out in the 6th inning, and put Lackey in in relief. Surely he'll like it then, no?

    I just don't see him fitting. He's sure as hell not gonna start, and with his first inning woes he's not cut out for the bullpen either. At some point you have to seriously consider that Lackey is a better option than Lester as a postseason starter this year. BLASPHEMER!!!

    this would bring me great joy. i don't care in what capacity. just have him in wrigley often and occasionally show me him during the game so i can remember my favorite player of all time and i'll think about the time when i told my friend matt he was awesome and then he put one in the baskets on the next pitch when i was 10 or so 12 ear old me practically had his room wallpapered in andre dawson posters and cards.

    Hahahah! It's about ethics in being a guest of an empire. What did they expect, guests of an ump are supposed to just sit at a game and remain completely neutral to both teams? Confused at first by the typo, now I like it. Anyone playing in the NL central from 2015-2020 are really just guests of the empire.

    The randomness of every game in baseball clinches this for me. A difference of .16 degrees on a batted ball is a difference of a foot down the line making a ball fair or foul.

    Can he not sign a 1-year deal with a guaranteed non-tender which would make him a free agent his 2nd year? absolutely. That's my point above. Its not 2 of big league money vs. 6 of league minimum/arb. It's two of about 3M then the big money vs. 1 of 3M then the big money.

    Spent way too much time looking at GIS of low clutch. Learned a great deal about using a low profile clutch when modifying a car with an oversized carburetor.

    This article is basically: - The Cardinals threw at the Cubs and Joe got mad - Two baseball teams of different talent levels played baseball games for two years - The more talented baseball team won a significant amount more baseball games - The writer asserts that the more talented team is not actually better at playing baseball, but rather better at playing MIND baseball against one particular team I mostly got a validation that Matheny is dumb and Joe played him like a fiddle. It is possible to be a math/stats dummy and meatball and a very engaging writer at the same time. I enjoyed the article and like Miklasz in general. It is also possible for Matheny to be dumb, the Cardinals bad, Joe to a genius and the Cubs to be good all as separate facts. Bears. Beets. Battlestar Galactica.

    his career line inc. postseason is .229/.337/.482 so if you think he can hit .270 that's a monster bat in the middle of the order Absolutely. Like .900+ OPS. ;)
