  1. They went through a good stretch there where they were tolerable. We suck again!
  2. Forget page two, this one almost didn’t hit page one.
  3. I think he meant “now that he’s out of the lead off spot.” I hope.
  4. That's way more than semi interesting. Don't think we've heard an admission like that about anything before. Since I'm a complete Astros-are-somehow-cheating truther, I choose to believe Verlander wouldn't have done what he's doing there were he in Chicago, but man, if he could've. I don't know what the Astros are doing either, but Verlander's K rates spiked in Houston just like it did for Cole and Morton and others. I'm not convinced the same would've happened in Chicago. I want to know their secret. Proprietary adhesive
  5. I don’t know about you guys, but I can’t wait for the supercubs lineup. Get these guys well and be underestimated in the playoffs.
  6. I believe this belongs in the Topheavy umpires thread.
  7. Coom is getting as animated as he’s capable of getting about Gio’s intentional wildness on the radio broadcast.
  8. Cubs training staff.
  9. So, forfeit lineup comes up big yesterday. The dongsmiths should drive the nail into Milwaukee’s coffin today.
  10. Is he even available to pinch hit?
  11. I blame this thread for Willlson's injury.
  12. Sweep or get swept. There is no try.
  13. Prince Fielder is still being paid $9Million to not play baseball.
  14. Yeah, I basically completely ignored his usage by the Dodgers in the playoffs, especially from the perspective of his relatively stress free half decade prior. If anything I probably spun it as a good thing. Was pretty biased too since Morrow's always been cool for this game... ....which is almost 10 years old  Gotta love all those strike oots.
  15. Who? Theo Epstein. He’s the guy that runs the Cubs and says things.
  16. More replying to the guy you were replying to. And in general agreement to the idea that it’s not unreasonable to think that someone (anyone) coming off the IL may have some residual issues. That may manifest itself in lost velocity, lack of control, or decreased use of the pitch causing the pain for pitchers or being old and slow and ugly in the case of a certain catcher.
  17. How do you know he's still hurt? Are all our hurt guys going to be broken when they come back of the IL too, or is this just a SSS Cardinals thing? Haahahaha! Too good. Kintzler, Kimbrel and Strop are obviously all still broken. So, yes?
  18. Easy there, bud. We’re still getting around 6 pages on these babies. Come see me when the thread doesn’t make page two. Let me tell you a srtory about 2014.....
  19. I think we can use Monty as a guide to suggest that not much would have changed.
  20. Don’t poke the troll.
  21. Everyone knows teams do that. It's widely considered to be dumb and meaningless when you're talking about things like a dozen AB or less. It's old timey meatball horsefeathers. Why do all these teams who spend millions on analytics do it if it was totally meaningless? You would think Theo or Jed would say something when they go over things with Joe everyday. Theo and Jed will say something to Joe about it. "Thank you or your services." Also, they did recently say something about redistributing the at bats so that the better hitters get more chances. That's as close to "stop playing Almora" as you can get without damaging morale.
  22. In summary: baseball is awesome. Everything else ranged from not awesome to not tolerable.
