It is odd how multiple perennial positive offensive WAR position players have stopped hitting. I am still holding out hope that they are all banged up and we will see an offense that’s more and less offensive emerge any day now. Today would be good.
Is Morel still having trouble with his finger? I really do think the whole team is playing banged up right now and they just need to find ways to rest these guys. Bote is healthy and has enough skills to have had success in the past.
Putting Morel at DH for a while and getting some guys actual rest could lead them back to healthy.
Great diving catch by the gold glover in LF. I know it’s crazy, but like to see them try him out back at 2B as long as he’s hitting like a middle infielder and both our middle infielders are unavailable.
I hate Dansby being hurt. I like him going to the IL if he's hurt. If his lack of performance is because of an injury, that is much better than the alternative explanation that it was just him sucking.
I think this is very good.
The fact that the offense is being carried by the 4th outfielder and a AAA CF nincompoop is disturbing. I mean if it was the AAA corner outfield nincompoop it might make sense, but even he isn't hitting. Can't go on much longer.
But my eyes say that's impossible. 🙂
Everything is pretty similar to last years as far as batted ball profile (LD% is 24.3 vs 24.2 last year) for Dansby and his BABIP is actually up.
Its not so much that he's swinging more, its that he's missing more.
He's just walking a little less and striking out a little more. His whiff % is a career high, but not by much. So I guess it's WHEN that swing and miss happens. Hopefully it evens out over time.
Happ's contact rates are even worse compared to his career norms. Same story.
The way that reads is PCA in every game. You could have a game with Tauchman in CF and Canario or Wisdom in RF. More accurately, 3 of Tauchmam, PCA, Wisdom, Canario, Mervis.
