  1. Shouldn't you be hanging out at Gateway Redbirds concern trolling?
  2. I hereby make an Official Declaration of Fun Bad. Fun Bad had been invoked.
  3. So wait like a week? stop trolling, ass If you really weren't worried, you wouldn't be lashing out. Relax, it can be fun no matter how they do.
  4. PLEASE. STOP. this [expletive] team is still 17 games over .500 So wait like a week?
  5. When does the first bag head show up at Wrigley?
  6. I liked positive Kyle a lot better. We're probably still going to win the division and who knows after that.
  7. Lackey was pitching way over his head, Hammel always does this after 75 good innings, and Arrieta's stuff requires insane athleticism to control and he can't maintain that when he's thrown like 375 innings in the last 16 months. No idea what's up with Lester.
  8. On the other hand, if they *did* continue their 1-9 pace for the rest of the season, they'd finish 60-102 and might be able to get the No. 1 overall pick.
  9. I think this is one of these cases where we kid ourselves about how predictable baseball is. Status quo bias on one end and recency bias on the other. Maybe this is a pitching implosion. Maybe it is a temporary slump. All I know is my gut says maybe.
  10. I haven't consigned Soler to oblivion like many here have. That said, The offense isn't the problem, and the rotation will probably right itself. The bullpen is a different story. Soler's injury has also forced guys like Szczur, Coghlan, etc to play way more and be exposed. But Soler being healthy forces him to play more and that is just as bad.
  11. If the scores hold, we will be tied with the Nats. We are a fraction away from being the NL's worst division leader.
  12. Who had "3 games behind the Giants at the break" six weeks ago?
  13. The Pirates did not.
  14. Counterpoint: everything is ruined forever
  15. It's OK guys. On Sunday I'm starting in a rookie ice hockey league for fat, slow nerds. Instead of talking about the Cubs, I will give you all updates on how our games go and we can have game threads for that until winter sports start.
  16. They are still going to win the division, but it would be darkly funny if they 2014 A's'd it. Entertaining either way!
  17. I'm really glad we were smart enough not to extend him.
  18. With Rondon sucking and Arrieta incapable of pitching more than a couple of innings, we may have to make him the closer.
  19. I'm probably going to go see that awful movie with Aubrey Plaza and Anna Kendrick because I'm a sad old perv and because I have a friend facing life-threatening surgery and I won't want to just sit waiting for news.
  20. We skipped the two WS Red Sox and went straight to the Carl Crawford signing and chicken and beer
  21. Harrell vs. Hammel is like they have the off-brand of something that isn't even that great to begin with. Hydrax vs. Hydrox.
  22. Fun fact: the Cubs do not have the best record in baseball
