Did 2004 have unseasonably warm weather, more night games or more weekend games early in the season? It's probably a combination of a lot of variables including pricing and time of year. I don't mean the 2004 Cubs only had one game below 38k *at this point*. I mean they only had one all year.

Well, by comparison, the 2004 Cubs only had one game below 38k. The 2016 Cubs have already had 10. Ticket prices is my first guess to explain the difference.

The Cubs aren't selling out consistently the year after winning 97 games and going to the NLCS, and after a huge offseason? That surprises me.

In Chicago, out standards for pizza are a little bit high. In most of the country, Papa Johns and Domino's is all they have. How sad is that? If a town is big enough for a Papa Johns or a Domino's, they have some kind of mom and pop pizza in town that's better. I'm quite familiar with plenty of podunk central Illinois towns and their pizza availability. I always thought so too, but I can personally confirm that there are zero acceptable pizza joints in Jacksonville, Illinois.

I just noticed Fangraphs has added a "talent adjusted" line to their win probability chart. Cubs down 2-1 to the Padres heading into bottom of the second at home are still 61.2% to win.

Given the difference in talent, a one-run deficit with eight innings to play still favors the Cubs.
