Somehow, someway, please for the love of god, stay out out of 3rd and 12+.
But if we get there, just take the underneath and hope your playmaker can break a couple tackles.
It's crazy to me that the Bears are -6. Sweat and Gordon being back will help. I haven't watched every single game, but my impression is that the Patriots were looking a bit passable under Maye.
My expectations are at their absolute lowest. You just can't send Larry Borom and Matt Pryor out there as your tackles in an NFL game and think it's gonna be a-ok.
Yes. That's just how most plays work. Nobody in the NFL calls plays that have to work exactly one way. It varies from play to play, but most of the time when Williams goes to the line, he's going to have a couple of options on what order to read the field based on look. Usually at a minimum he'll choose one side of the field or the other to start on.
I'm not particularly convinced that "losing a game late that it looked like you were going to win" is any more on the head coach than any other type of losing
I think it's highly plausible that Eberlfus stays. No matter how angry everyone is that they've lost two games in a row, it's still two years of rebuilding and a rookie QB.
I won't be sorry if he's fired, but I'm not convinced firing him solves anything, so *shrug*
I know everyone's terrified to say it because of three years of excuse-making for Fields but I'll say it: Williams was made to look worse by his receivers and line yesterday.
I really don't think he had a terrible day. He missed a couple throws (and I think sometimes he makes intentional throwaways that look like bad throws) but I don't think we would have noticed them this much if we weren't already concerned about his accuracy.
It wasn't a good day. He needs to be a tick faster in his processing, something they were throwing at him was throwing him off. But I thought it was like C- QB play.
Probably, but I'm not a fan of the veterans doing the calling out either. Lewis can't stop committing penatlies. Allen showed up out of shape and was our worst player on offense yesterday. Moore looks like he's completely checked out.
This is shaping up to be a majestic meltdown. Everything is on fire from having to play a below-average Arizona Cardinals team.
We haven't even gotten to the part where the Lions grind us into dust, or the Packers do their annual reminder that we're the lil bros.
I'd ironically like to see Williams make more mistakes. I'm really tired of seeing him eat sacks because there was too many 1-on-1 coverages and throwing overly safe "my guy or nobody but probably nobody" balls.
If Moore is in an Allen Robinson decline, the amount of resources Poles has poured into receiver only to still have a long term issue at the position is breathtaking
I promise you if we went to 31 other teams' fanbases, they'd have similar complaints about every single head coach in the league. Including the ones you would think are untouchable like Reid or Tomlin
Dj Moore walked off the field halfway through one of Caleb's crazy scrambled and sat on the bench while the play was still going.
I hate premature extensions so much
It's not that coaching doesn't matter. It's that fans obsess over it to a degree out of line with the level of impact.
Literally all anyone wants to talk about after a loss is coaching. Maybe a smidge of QB panic. Everything always could have been salvaged with a few "adjustments" (half of which they already tried, half of which wouldn't work). The "game plan" is always wrong in some vague sense.
There is so much more to the issues than that.
The veteran receivers look inconsistent and Moore has a bad case of gotbagitis.
The offensive line is decimated.
The defense is entirely dependent on the health of a 28 year old DE.
