  1. Or the game is just played by players. It's not a chess board
  2. Yes. It absolutely made me feel significantly better. He did have some slow decisions, and some inaccurate throws. But as the game went on he got better and better. He hit some bombs, and by the fourth quarter he was consistently lasering throws into tight coverage in the middle of the field. It was exactly what I wanted to see from him
  3. They're completely bog standard NFL runs. There's like six run plays that every NFL team runs.
  4. Besides the goal line sequence, I thought the play calling was great. We even got everything fans always say they want: tons of slants, some moving pockets and bootlegs
  5. The timeout gets maximum value there. It saves 40 seconds. It can never save you more than that, and later it might save a lot less.
  6. tbf on the kicker thing, Santos' second kick would have easily been good from 56
  7. The second timeout made perfect sense. You need as much time on the clock as possible.
  8. ST coach signaled one, Eberflus signaled 2, the kicker ran out, there wasn't much time because Odunze and Williams took a lot of time celebrating, so they called a time out to settle it.
  9. Well, when he took over, we were rebuilding no matter what, so I think it's better but that's not a high bar.
  10. We've had a 30-TD season before. No one cares about that. Edit: Wait, no we haven't, we've had 30 combined but not 30 from one QB
  11. Williams now on pace for 3570 passing yards, 75 yards behind 4000 pace
  12. So yeah, this team is going to have a helluva time winning 9+ games without this one. The second half of the schedule is full of games that are a lot harder than this. But I'm about as happy as I can be. Caleb Williams just put up the 11th-most passing yards in a game in franchise history, in his third game as a pro. He didn't look perfect, but he looked better the longer the game went. His first quarter was terrible, but every quarter after that got better. He hit some deep throws, he made some throws into tight pro coverage, he used the middle of the field. This is the kind of game elite QBs have early in their careers. The first INT was a rookie mistake. The second INT I really didn't mind, he lasered a throw to a receiver he trusts and put it on his hands in tight coverage. Two separate defenders made great plays to turn it into an INT, it happens. Waldron is going to eat so much horsefeathers this week, and he deserves it for the disastrous goal-line sequence that was arguably the difference in the game. But I really liked the game plan overall. The running game looked a little better. Not a lot better, but at least the ball usually went forward. I'll take it. Roschon Johnson looked like our best back and it wasn't particularly close. Taylor had a bad game. There's no such thing an elite punter. He outkicked his coverage several times and he hit a wobbling half-shank on his best chance to pin them deep. The defense did about as good as you could hope. The Colts' offensive line is really good and they broke off some big runs, especially when defending a lead, but we repeatedly made Anthony Richardson play QB, which he can't do.
  13. I don't think his job is even a little bit in danger, tbh.
  14. The goal line ended up being the difference.
  15. It's a long shot but WIllliams on 400 watch
  16. We have different definitions of solid. I have zero regret from what Fields has shown in the first two games for the steelers.
  17. I'm not exactly brimming with confidence that we can drive this down the field for a touchdown. Williams 3rd INT seems likely. Part of the process
  18. Is he not over 300 yards? I thought he was after the last one to kmet but the box score is stuck on 294
  19. Outside of the disastrous goal-line, I've liked the playcalling. Keep the ball in Williams hands, that's the only way he'll learn.
  20. Because his forward progress wasn't stopped at the goal-line. Richardson was clearly in the grasp.
  21. Yes. Both calls were correct.
  22. Same, but I'm ok with it as long as Williams keeps improving, which he is.
  23. Because Smith looked good with Waldron, Mahomes looks good with Nagy, and Minshew looks good with Getsy
