  1. If the bears look like they might score this drive, the holding calls will come in
  2. Problem number 1 is Caleb Williams having a bad game. He looks confused by what the defense is showing. Problem 2 has been the refs. These calls are insanely touchy and they're all going one way
  3. Insane call. We better get some makeup calls in the second half
  4. It's week 9 and we are still seeing QB and WR on different pages
  5. I'd be less annoyed by the no calls if our first drive hadn't been killed by an incredibly soft offensive PI call
  6. I'm tempted to say he underthrew that and a good lead might have been a TD
  7. Just stepping on our own dicks over and over and over
  8. I'm not despondent about Williams' play, but I still see a zero in the scoreboard
  9. Drop, missed throw, drive dead Taylor's low hang time and returnable placement continues to be a problem
  10. Maybe I am being a homer, but I feel like 30% of our first quarter offensive problems have been really titchy flags
  11. Yeah, he was questionable all week. They could still easily turn it around, but the pieces are in place for a collapse if they lose today. I'm not specifically worried about the coaching, but I am worried about the injuries, the strength of the division/second half schedule, and the potential to be down H2H tiebreaker on two key conference rivals. I'm not interested in firing Eberflus for having a losing record in two tank years and one rookie QB year, but if he loses the locker room then you probably have to, and the locker room is starting to feel a little shaky and a loss today would really not help.
  12. How often does that happen to the average defense over a similar period?
  13. I think the fact that we were up to 7 or 8 injured linemen at one point is the issue. The depth actually has been pretty good.
  14. I'm sure Bears internet had a good week of freaking out and calling for everyone's heads. It was probably good for my mental health to avoid everything for a week. Looks like Brisker is still out. Which solidifies the point that you never really have a position locked down safely in the NFL, especially on defense. It's the Not For Long league. We could very easily be drafting a safety next draft. Personally, I've never been Brisker's biggest fan and wouldn't necessarily lock him in long-term regardless of health. One of the underrated storise for me earlier in the season was how the Bears had weathered a lot of OL injuries, but that finally hit the breaking point last week with even more injuries and now it's in shambles. WTF is a Jake Curhan but apparently he's been activated from the PS. So we're down to a starting OL of Borom (questionable)/Jenkins (qusetionable)/Shelton/Pryor/Wright with Davis, Kramer and Curhan as the backups? That's ugly and thin. If the Bears drop this game, another mid-tier conference opponent, we can stop talking about playoffs as more than a fringe possibility and go back to just Caleb-watching.
  15. Mostly staying out of Bears discourse this week because it's going to be even more full of bad takes than usual But I will say 1) One of my main criteria for coaches is that they can't lose the locker room. Eberflus should probably start sweating that one, although more wins would probably keep it from boiling over 2) A few scouting reports did note Williams' inconsistency with deep ball accuracy in college.
  16. Yeah I'm definitely just gonna avoid Bears Internet this week
  17. This is the worst Williams has looked since the Titans game. His accuracy falls apart when he's rattled
  18. I think that's what I would do. I'm not 100% convinced it's better but it's worth trying
  19. He's in the game because the starting LT is hurt, the swing tackle is hurt, and the third option at LT is playing guard due to other injuries.
  20. I guess you could shift Pryor to LT and put Murray in at RG.
  21. He's next up on the depth chart. Do you want Kmet in there or something?
  22. I saw that coming as soon as Amegadjie came into the game. He's our 4th option at LT and not a credible one. Hard to know until we see the film, but Williams looks confused almost every drop back
  23. That second down throw sure looked like an intentional throwaway to me because the play got out of sync and Washington had someone undercutting. Announcers called it a bad throw so everyone will think that, but I don't see it
